  1. Parkway into St Luke's Bowl Final after a dramatic night in which they came from behind twice, finally winning the tie with an Adam Carter penalty in the 7th minute of stoppage time. His second of the match The other scorers on the night for a depleted squad were Jordan Annear, and special guest returning favourite , John Heveran.
  2. Still maintain that as a pure footballer Glyn Hobbs was briefly in a class of his own. Season 2010/11 for Parkway he was untouchable. Speed, strength, skill and that little bit of nastiness that top players have.
  3. Looks like they've called time for this season. Probably the sensible thing to do, save their funds and start next season's rebuild operation. Getting Bodmin competitive again will be the biggest challenge of Darren Gilbert's time at Priory Park.
  4. Would have been good for the captain to be their cheering the boys on in a crucial game.
  5. A result that probably feels like two points lost for both teams rather than a point gained, but then again neither team probably did enough to win. I'll leave the full match report to Graham, but the defenders on both sides probably finished the game with the feeling they had the better of the encounter. When the were beaten, Kyle Moore in the Parkway goal (twice) and the Bitton number 1 pulled off top class saves. Was great to catch up with Bald One, Robin Van Parkway and the rest of the Parkway travelling support. The treble is still on, suspect there will be several twists and turns in the last few weeks of the season.
  6. Thanks Home Waters. Don't agree with it , to me, if you're suspended you're suspended. But the rules are the rules.
  7. 22 I believe. I expect clubs from higher steps again will start taking notice if he continues scoring ( he had a pre-season with Tiverton, also think he was in Willand's squad once or twice last season). If this does happen, everyone wins. Parkway win lots of matches as a result of his goals, and he continues to progress through the levels. Everybody is always looking for strikers!
  8. I'd be grateful if anybody could explain the suspension rules. Remember earlier in the season that Mike Smith turned out for Tiverton whilst serving a 3 match ban received while playing for Parkway, are you only suspended at a certain level?
  9. Rob Farkins is the leader that holds the defence ,hope that him going off was just precautionary. A big welcome back to Aaron Bentley from the Truro circus. A decent option in the squad with a minimum of eight big games to play in the last five weeks of the season.
  10. Bringing new players with him apparently. I'm sure that Aaron Bentley and Billy Palfrey would receive a warm Bolitho Park welcome if they fancy a friendlier environment. 😊
  11. How was it a poor appointment? This was a proven duo with a track record of success at Taunton, who then steadied a sinking ship that looked doomed as early as August after a non existent pre-season and terrible start. Leigh Robinson is clearly a driven guy who wants to test himself at higher levels, and will no doubt walk into another job quite quickly. Something has happened behind the scenes after the Pirates takeover, this is obvious from the dip in results and performances. With hindsight, you could see the warning signs when he stated several weeks ago that he had been given no indication as to a budget he could use to plan for next season. What an absolute clown show of a club, have to wonder where they go from here and what plans and vision the Pirates really have for them.
  12. Don't underestimate Cullompton, they are having a decent season. Comfortably mid table and two cup semi-finals.
  13. Cornwall is another country (I am Cornish by the way).
  14. Dry and mild spring evening forecast. Argyle not playing. No Peninsula games in the area. No Premier League, Champions League or international matches on the telly. Bolitho Park is the place to be for all the football fans of Plymouth on Wednesday night.
  15. I'm like the Queen, never carry cash.
  16. When does his suspension start, and does the St Luke Bowl count towards this? If it is seven days after the offence (and assuming 3 matches including St Lukes game) then Bitton, Cullompton (St Lukes semi) and Bridgewater. Big, season defining, games. If Jamie Lowry is not available, then wonder if Lee Hobbs might be looking to bring someone in to cover.
  17. Lose this forum and the likes of Leeds United and Big Al will disappear from your life. I fear that might not have sold it too well...
  18. Truro seem to have folded since the Cornish Pirates takeover was announced. Perhaps there is a grain of truth in the rumours about the future of Leigh Robinson and Michael Meaker beyond the end of this season.
  19. Seems unlikely. Only 7 league games left, and a minimum of 2 cup matches on top of that. Why leave now with the chance of a treble in the offing?
  20. The Parkway title challenge keeps rolling on with a win that probably puts Westbury out of the title reckoning. Goals from Adam Carter (2), Shane Krac and Jordan Annear, only downside was the straight red picked up by Krac for a foul tackle. See you at Bitton next Saturday!
