  1. The last time Parkway suffered a reverse like this was away to Willand in the league at the start of the season. Hopefully it will spark a similar bounce back and run of results.
  2. Not got the stats to hand, but it feels like Peninsula League sides have sticking it to step 5 opposition in the Vase this season. With Falmouth, Saltash and St Austell all achieving it this past weekend, how many is that this season?
  3. St Austell 6 Parkway 1 What the hell happened? Nothing on St Austell or Parkway Twitter (possibly still celebrating on one hand, probable shell shock on other).
  4. Just think of how much a young striker could learn from watching and listening to someone like Stewart Yetton.
  5. Just need the St Blazey revival to begin. When Cornish football reverts back to a county only set up, you very much need the big old clubs like Penzance, Liskeard, Blazey and Porthleven to be competitive in order to develop local interest and ensure worthwhile matches.
  6. As someone who grew up in Liskeard, and remembers the Western League glory days well, it is great to see the club heading back in the right direction with a promising group of local players. The problem on the horizon though would appear to be other clubs picking off the Lux Park starlets as they make names for themselves. James Lorenz turning out for Parkway last night (even if was only as cover with the Blues not having a game), would appear to be a warning of this.
  7. Another big win on the road for Parkway. Bitton currently played 5, won 5 in the league.
  8. Prejudging Shane Krac a bit, there has been nothing official about him wanting to move on from Parkway. Even then, saying players "didn't fancy" the step up is a bit strong (especially as he has proven himself at higher levels with Tiverton, Weymouth and Truro),but there is no denying the extra travelling is a big commitment. We are talking about part time players for whom job and family have to come first. Two examples,Parkway have a long trip to Bitton this evening in the league cup, probably a 3pm departure from Plymouth, and 1am return (without the possible extra time and penalties), and then Westbury away on Saturday which will be an all day round trip. It was always inevitable that one or two players would fall away from Parkway as the season got going, but I am sure that the chairman and management would have factored this into their thinking and planned accordingly.
  9. Is Shane Jewell in as cover, or a full time replacement for Jordan Trott in the squad?
  10. Heard from reliable source that further player incomings at Bodmin are happening this week.
  11. Big win for Blazey, quite a bounce back after the recent stories coming out of Blaise Park.
  12. A lot of talented forwards competing for two forward spots at Tavistock. Liam Prynn, Josh Grant and Jack Crago all have the ability to play higher than the Peninsula League. Surprised that Glyn Hobbs has been the one squeezed out, he is definitely needed at Bodmin though.
  13. Slightly off topic I know, but what a strong Bugle side that was.
  14. With Argyle away and Parkway not playing until Sunday, hopefully there will be a bumper crowd at Tavi.
  15. Absolutely. Might not be the best Bodmin side of recent seasons, but any side that Darren Gilbert runs will be hard to beat.
  16. I can vouch for the fun to be had sat next to the Bald One on a Parkway coach trip. Until he falls asleep. #clean window.
  17. Doubt much would stick to the damp and peeling walls in the Bodmin dressing room...
  18. Parkway favourites for this, hope Lee hasn't done the St Austell team talk for them though. Can imagine their manager printing this off and sticking it on the dressing room wall.
  19. Buckland are a club with a Southern League set up and a very ambitious chairman, can see them going big in their next appointment with a proven manager from higher leagues. Peter Beadle (three consecutive promotions with Hereford is available), Lee Hodges (ex Truro and lives in the area )is also between jobs. Ion
  20. The Peninsula League teams seem to be sticking it to the Western League sides at the moment.
  21. Happy days. Not saying the attendances were sparse at times, but the crowd changes were announced to the team...
