  1. Looking forward to a nervy, tense evening ,with a few wild and tasty tackles thrown in and the odd heated debate between players, managers and officials ( just the sort of game that me and The Bald One like ) . As for the record crowd prediction , where were all these people on a miserable afternoon last December when Parkway played Falmouth ( official attendance of 113 ) , or home to Cullompton on a chilly March evening ( official attendance of 106 )? Just wondering ....
  2. The "dog walkers " who always lurk in the woods at the side of Bolitho Park .
  3. Due to my obvious bias , I have not gone for Parkway in any of these categories . Best team - Liskeard ( In terms of attitude and spirit , they still kept going even at 8-0 down ) Best club house - Falmouth Best set up - Ivybridge Best pitch - St Blazey Best support - Godolphin Best grub - Cullompton ( it was like a wedding buffet ) Best striker - Andrew Neal ( Ivybridge) Best midfielder - Chris Reski ( St Austell ) Best defender - Steve Simmonds ( Bodmin ) Best goalkeeper - Joe Moore ( Elmore ) ( had the game of his life down at Bolitho Park) Underachievers - St Austell ( expected them to be strong contenders in the league , could still end up with two cups though )
  4. The Parkway Number 5 is Gavin Coulton , him and Mike Landricombe have been superb for Parkway this season . I have to admit that I was not a Coulton fan previously , but he has won me and others around this season . That sweeper role is made for him .
  5. Not a great game last night in my opinion . If you had been an uninformed stranger walking in, then you would not think it was the defending champions against the league leaders . Superb free kick from Jonny Ludlam , but cannot remember Bodmin creating much else . For Parkway , Kevin Miller made a superb save from Luke Rundle in the first half ( the rebound was then deflected against the crossbar and scrambled away ) , but a couple of half chances aside , he wasn't that busy behind a defence superbly marshalled by Steve Simmonds . Parkway carried through the heavy legged performance that was evident in the second half against Camelford , with Levi Landricombe in particular looking a bit jaded . No time to feel sorry for themselves though , it's another big match against Witheridge at home tomorrow night . Parkway still have the title in their own hands .
  6. Parkway 3 ( Adam Carter , Paul Heveran , Levi Landricombe ) Camelford 0 ( HT 2-0) Not the greatest of performances yesterday in the driving rain , a strong wind and on a greasy pitch with one or two heavy legs from four games in eight days . Full credit to a heavily depleted Camelford side that featured a couple of sixteen year olds on the bench . They kept going throughout , and made Parkway think once or twice when they created some good chances Parkway led at half time through Adam Carter and Paul Heveran , but would have further clear but for the spurning of good chances , the crossbar and some good saves by keeper Josh Colwill . Second half felt quite low key , with only the lively substitute Sam Dicken going close for Parkway , before Levi brilliantly made space for himself to fire home left footed . Top of the table with two games in hand , and three wins from five will take the title to Parkway . The schedule doesn't let up though with a visit to Bodmin on Monday night , home to Withy on Wednesday and the big visit to Exmouth next Saturday . The Parkway back three of Mike Landricombe, Gavin Coulton and Will Stringer were excellent today ( as they have been for most of the season ) , but losing Adam Carter injured in the first half was a blow . All the Parkway faithful were hoping it was not a hamstring injury , but merely a precaution , as he has been excellent over the past few weeks .
  7. Get well soon Will . We may well need another vital penalty putting away before the end of the season .
  8. Launceston 0 Parkway 2 ( Lance Bailey , Levi Landricombe ) (HT 0-1) From updates I was getting , it sounded like a hard fought game that saw Launceston finishing with nine men . Three big points , and a very important clean sheet . Report to follow when The Bald One gets home .
  9. Get well soon 100% Cornish . Disagree with you on the Manager Of The Year though , I would go for Nicky Marker at Ivybridge Town .
  10. Well done to all at Godolphin . With so many grounds on the South West football having had none or very little work done or money spent on them for years , it is refreshing to see yourselves being in the group of clubs that are pushing forward . After witnessing first hand this season the team spirit and hard work that is evident on and off the field at Godolphin , and the pool of players and support that is available in the Newquay area , I can see The G being one of the leading clubs in years to come .
  11. Parkway 3 ( Levi Landricombe 2 , Adam Carter ) Godolphin 1 ( Phil Lowry ) ( HT 1-0 ) It's about the strikers I guess . Godoplhin put Parkway under pressure for long periods , and probably played the better football , but didn't create many clear cut openings . Parkway , on the hand , have a pair of strikers with over 60 goals between them this season , and scored the goals at the right times . Levi lobbed Shaun Semmens after 3 minutes for a flying start , before The G deservedly got back into it right after half time with Phil Lowry running past the Parkway defence before rounding Ben Elphick to score from a tight angle . Adam Carter broke the Godolphin stride when he scored Parkway's second against the run of play after forcing a mistake by Semmens , Levi then secured the passage into the final by volleying his second , and Parkway's third , late on .
  12. Yes Mike , spells of sunshine . The great orb in the sky was only matched by the brightness of The Bald One's smile when he won the 50/50 .
  13. Sorry Will , I can only count nine goals for the season ; 10th August - Falmouth ( League) 25th October - Tavistock ( Throgmorton) 23rd November - Vospers ( Throgmorton) (2) 11th February - Exeter ( St Lukes Bowl) 22nd February - Liskeard ( League) (2) 26th March - St Blazey (League) 5th April - Elmore (League) This is still a very good return for a centre back though .
  14. Elmore 2 ( James Blake 2 ) Parkway 6 ( Dan Hart,Adam Carter 2,Levi Landricombe 2 , Will Stringer) (HT 0-2 ) Parkway racked up 6 goals for the second time in 5 days on a bobbly pitch in the Tiverton sunshine . A low key match was brought to life in spectacular fashion on 38 minutes when Dan Hart made room for himself and found the net from long range off the underside of the bar , Adam Carter doubled the advantage just before half time when he pounced on the loose ball from Luke Rundle's cross . Levi Landricombe volleyed home while The Bald One was still counting his Fifty/Fifty winnings and , promising youngster , Will Stringer , headed in Paul Heveran's corner and then Carter picked up his second . The clean sheet was spoiled when James Blake scored twice in 3 minutes for the Eagles , possibly as a result of Gavin Coulton and Stringer leaving the pitch ( hopefully precautionary measures ahead of Wednesday's Throgmorton semi) the side seemed to switch off and lose shape momentarily . The 4 goal advantage was restored just before the end when Levi bagged his brace after fine work by Nick Rudge and Sam Hillson .
  15. I believe it's a finish in the top two . Parkway v Saltash on the 9th May could be very interesting .
  16. Parkway 6 ( Lance Bailey,Luke Rundle,Adam Carter, Levi Landricombe 3) Godolphin 0 ( HT 2-0) Parkway bounced back from last weeks poor display against Blazey , with six unanswered goals against Godolphin . Josh Fearon spurned a couple of glorious chances to put The G in front early on , but once two clinical strikes from Barnum Bailey ( complete with the celebratory forward roll ) and Luke Rundle gave Parkway an advantage before the half hour , then the home side always looked like winning . Some clever work from the impressive Nick Rudge when he danced past a pair of defenders to release Levi to set up Adam Carter for the third , before Levi stole the ball from a dallying defender to grab the fourth and then raced clear from a Hoddle-like Bailey pass to chip the keeper for the fifth . Some smart work by Shaun Semmens denied Levi from grabbing his hat trick , before he smashed in a long range free kick deep in stoppage time to round off the scoring and take his tally to 42 in all competitions for the season . A good dress rehearsal for next week's Throgmorton Cup Semi-Final , and a victory that keeps Parkway right in the league title frame .
  17. It looks like he's a Parkway player now . To summarise ; He was signed on for Parkway . Then he signed for St Blazey . Then he signed on for Parkway .
  18. Knowing what people think of Parkway , and supposed "ringers" around here , I am surprised that nobody has made any mention of Andrew Neal ( top scorer in the Peninsula League Premier Division with Ivybridge Town ) grabbing the winner in Parkway Reserves away victory over Callington Reserves on Saturday .
  19. Are you setting sail for Bolitho Park tomorrow night, Captain ? Me and The Bald One would let you onto our Poop Deck ( the standing area next to the home dug out ) .
  20. Sam Dicken - Bovey to Parkway Danny Brook - Torpoint to Parkway Kenny Griffiths - Buckland to Parkway
  21. Notice that Dan Jennings managed to fit in another move before the deadline . How many is that for the season ?
  22. However perhaps half ten is a little early. I think that is what the post was suggesting - just delay the decision a little I take it you mean the Bodmin game and not the topics game? Parkway would have had to leave at midday anyway, so can't really see how the pitch would be any different 90 mins later!! Possibly I am being antagonistic here , and I do apologise if I unintentionally offend anybody in positions of authority at both Bodmin and Parkway , but given the fixture pile up situation , and the way the weather turned out yesterday , was the possibility of putting the kick off back to the early evening or even Sunday explored ? I am only looking on as a naive bystander , but are these things considered ?
  23. I'm putting together the programme for Parkway's game against Godolphin on Tuesday night , and in the profile section I am going to write that visiting manager Derek Martin is the longest serving current manager in the Peninsula League . Am I correct in saying this ?
  24. As Monday the 31st March is the deadline for making new signings , are there are last minute moves in the offing ? Any decent rumours knocking around as well ?
