  1. Wait until Lance Bailey finds the net again , I'm sure he's got a triple backflip in his repertoire ....
  2. Think you are being kind Paul when you say that Parkway looked dangerous in the first half , I think the only real Parkway opportunity was when Paul Baker managed to the underside of the bar from inside the six yard box when faced with an open goal . It wasn't a great first half from either side to be honest , but Blazey altered their tactics after the restart and came out looking much more businesslike with Tornado Bello and the home number 12 ( didn't catch his name ) threatening Parkway with their pace and movement and Lewis Coombes linking the play a lot better . Dan Evans also countered the threat of Adam Carter. Ben Elphick got into a real mess under the high ball and Chris Daw poked home in the ensuing scramble for the opener , Bello had already given Parkway fair warning of his ability when he hit the inside of the post with Elphick beaten , before he then turned Jamie Bass inside out to curl in the second . Just a shame about his playacting every time there was physical contact . The Blazey number 12 also went close to increasing the lead when he rattled the crossbar with a long range effort . Parkway got more ragged as the game went on , the only clear effort on goal was when Carter produced a reflex save from Maule to keep out his goalbound header . Will Stringer's penalty in stoppage time was never going to spark a revival . An insipid performance at best from Parkway , with few individual performances worth mentioning . A second consecutive away defeat means that they failed to cash in on Exmouth's dropped points the previous night .
  3. That follows , Darren Gilbert looked to have no interest at all in proceedings on Tuesday night .
  4. Good job Ivybridge didn't mention having 5 first team players not available, they just get on with who's available !!! May have been easy points after the game, considering that Camleford beat them the last time they met. Is Andrew Neal the Peninsula League Player Of The Season ( if such a title exists )? ps Parkway had four regulars missing today .
  5. Good result today for Falmouth , they should stay up now . Liskeard look doomed to relegation , we don't want to lose another former giant of South West football in the same season .
  6. Has something bad happened to you previously at Bolitho Park ? Did the other kids gang up on you ?
  7. Parkway 8 ( Nick Rudge , Levi Landricombe,Will Stringer 2 ,Adam Carter 3 ,Sam Hillson) Liskeard 0 ( HT 5-0 ) Pretty straightforward victory for Parkway against a Liskeard side that showed great commitment and heart throughout , but were out of their depth ability wise . Parkway were 5-0 up inside 25 minutes on a heavy pitch , and a only a succession of spurned chances in the second half and a decent display by The Blues sub keeper Rob Brown kept it to single figures . From a personal point of view , it is difficult to see Liskeard ( my childhood club) in such a dire state . I really hope they can regroup and comeback
  8. That's a debate to be had Secret Scout .You're probably correct in your statement though , especially as I don't think the standard of goalkeeping in the SWPL has been particularly good . Steve Nute still gets my vote as the best I have ever seen in local football though ( Western League and South Western League).
  9. Parkway 3 ( Levi 2 , Carter ) Bodmin 1 ( Broomfield ) ( HT 2-1) Parkway set up a semi final against Godolphin with this win , which also meant that Bodmin did not reach that stage for the first time in the Peninsula League's existence . In a frenetic first half , Bodmin went ahead early on when Seb Broomfield turned in Lee Doel's driven cross . Parkway should have been ahead already by this stage after Adam Carter was first denied brilliantly by Kevin Miller in the opening five minutes , and then Levi Landricombe blazed high and wide when well placed . The equaliser did come when Levi shot right footed past Miller after Lance Bailey's defence splitting ball , Parkway took the lead shortly afterwards when Carter was the first to react after Miller saved Will Stringer's penalty . It could have been more comfortable by half time after two further bits of Miller brilliance , first when he smothered Sam Hillson's effort , and then tipping Carter's thumping drive onto the bar . The second half was a more subdued affair with Levi driving low in to the net to seal the victory . while Bodmin's only real effort on goal was when Jimmy Alexander saw his free kick hit the crossbar . Parkway are still chasing silverware on three fronts , while this was another setback for possibly the weakest Bodmin side I have seen for years .
  10. When Parkway lost down there earlier in the season, I did write that I believed that plenty of other teams would struggle on Godolphin's home patch . ( You probably didn't read that one Saint Francis ) .
  11. Wasn't able to attend due to prior commitments .I always say it as I see it when I do post , but I can't comment on what I didn't see .
  12. Elburton Villa (0) 1 ( Mike Smith), Parkway (2) 3 ( Adam Carter,Levi Landricombe 2) Parkway go top of the league for 24 hours at least with their best performance of 2014 . They looked sharp and bright from the off with the firmer pitch meaning they could get the passing going at a decent tempo , this was due in no small fact to Dan Hart and Lance Bailey both looking on top of their games in central midfield .Parkway had threatened early on with Carter sending his effort narrowly wide , but he was then on target in the 21st minute when he rammed home Danny Gaze's cross from close range . Parkway then got the second they deserved when Carter played in Levi to round the keeper and score . Parkway pushed hard for the third after the break with Gaze brushing the side netting and Bailey hitting the cross bar . this duly arrived when Levi pounced on a loose ball to lob the keeper from 30 yards . The only downside for the evening was when Parkway failed to keep a clean sheet with Mike Smith heading home a free kick on the hour . Luke Rundle coming off the bench for the last part of the game after four months out and Adam Carter looking much livelier , were two of the big plus points in a display that showed signs of Parkway coming out of the recent slump .
  13. Truth never usually comes into any of your stories .
  14. No problem with a lack of passion in the Parkway management. I know that Wayne Hillson is just as concerned as the fans about this current blip . Perhaps taking the passion and emotion out of it could be the thing to do now , just a gentle reminder to the players that they are near enough the same group the were pulling up trees a few months ago .
  15. They still go top with games in hand if they beat Elburton on Tuesday night .The title is still very achievable .
  16. Parkway 2 ( Levi Landricombe , Adam Carter) Cullompton 1 ( Dean Stamp ) ( HT 1-0) First win in three games for Parkway , but very little else to take from this performance in which they appeared bereft of confidence, form and ideas . The talk amongst the regulars was that Parkway needed an early goal if it was not to go the same way as Tuesday night's game . Will Stringer and Levi Landricombe both went close with first half headers before Levi took advantage of a defensive mix up just before half time . Cullompton served notice that they believed they could get something from the game with Sam Kemp forced Ben Elphick into a smart save just after the restart and Marcus Fanson shooting wide when well placed before Dean Stamp latched onto Elphick's poor clearance to equalise . Parkway enjoyed the balance of play , without really looking convincing in either possession or chances created , before Adam Carter turned in Nick Rudge's cross from close range for what turned out to be the winner .
  17. Not that good Mike , they've conceded 20 goals in their four matches before last night .
  18. Give the guy a chance . Yes , it was another two points dropped , and we have only taken two out of a possible nine in our last three matches , but Elmore were battered tonight . I would love to know what the possession stats were , but I would imagine that Parkway had around ninety percent of the play . We were camped inside the Elmore half for long periods in both halves but , although we lacked composure in front of goal on occasions , Joe Moore in the visitors goal had the game of his life . Me , The Bald One and the other regulars around us counted at least ten top drawer saves . No wonder Wayne Hillson stood looking stunned at the final whistle ,he couldn't work out how at least one effort didn't go in . We created enough good chances for a landslide victory , but it's a worry that those games in hand are starting to run out now .
  19. Didn't go last night because of prior commitments ,but this has been coming for a few weeks for Parkway . We are still only three points behind with three games in hand , but this needs to be snapped out of pretty quickly . It is also a worry about how the suspensions are starting to pile up , I am assuming that Dan Hart is now looking at a three game ban . The Bald One has been talking about Rocky Neal since his DJM days , he is turning into a star player and one who looks like he could progress up the leagues . He is someone that would be a natural replacement for Ryan Richards ( no allegations of "tapping up" please). Reference The Bald One's comments , I know how passionate he is about Parkway and that he follows them around all over the place at great expense to himself , and indeed was doing this before most of this current side were at Bolitho Park , and will continue doing it after most them have moved on . He is not a bitter loser , and very much says things as he sees them with no bias to either side . He must have been pretty cheesed off after last night , not at losing ( because that happens in football) ,but at the manner of the loss .
  20. They might have missed the chance to go second ,but while Parkway remain favourites for the league , they cannot afford too many more matches like this . They should have been clear by half time with Tom Brooks ( one of the leagues better keepers in my opinion ) denying Levi Landricombe, Danny Gaze and Danny Lewis . Adam Carter also spurned a golden chance when he was through on the keeper . Several Parkway players appear a shadow of their early season selves and are struggling to get the passing going and retain possession ,we also seemed to carry on from Saturday's game at Torpoint in looking nervous when the ball came into the defensive area and , especially early on , one long ball over the top seemed to be all that was needed to take our midfield and back three out of the game . On the balance of play Parkway probably should have won , but as long as it stayed at 2-1 it was only going to take one bit of individual play , a **** up or an eccentric bit of refereeing to deny them all the points . This was proved when Dan Taylor wrong footed Ben Elphick from distance in the 87th minute . For Parkway , I would pick out Nick Rudge , Gaze and Levi as the standout performers , but I am worried about several other players form , and what would happen to the attack if Levi got injured or suspended . Long way to go this season , and I think all the leading teams will drop points in unlikely matches .The true significance of this result will only be known in May .
  21. Torpoint 1 ( Bevan pen.) Parkway 2 ( Carter , Levi Landricombe ) HT 1-2 Parkway took the three points in a game that was more memorable for some of the officiating than the football , this was demonstrated by a liberal dose of debatable bookings and both sides suffering from poor decisions . Parkway took the lead through Adam Carter after he combined well with Levi Landricombe following Lance Bailey's perceptive pass , before Lee Bevan equalised from the penalty spot . Levi then put Parkway back in front when he drove into the roof of the net from the angle of the penalty area . Torpoint then appeared to have a cast iron penalty turned down when the referee overruled his assistant , before Jamie Bass was clearly brought down inside the area in the second half , only to see the referee decide it was a free kick outside the box . Carter was possibly fortunate not to see red when he kicked out at a home defender , before the referees liberal use of the card resulted in Torpoint's Ben Davies receive his marching orders for his second yellow . Parkway were good value for the win , but were below par with the ever threatening Levi Landricombe and the composed Mike Landricombe being the outstanding players . We could never really relax on a one goal lead with an erratic referee meaning a lapse of concentration in the area could be costly , we also seemed a bit jumpy and lacking in composure in dealing with the high ball into our area . Playing below your best and winning , isn't that what championship winning sides do ?
  22. Can I wish Ryan Richards all the best in his move to Tiverton Town , and thank him for his time at Parkway . Myself and The Bald One were not convinced when he came back to the club in February 2012 , we had him down as being in possession of a bad attitude , and moving out when the first chance came . That changed when we saw him grow up as a player both in terms of performance and attitude , and he carried our attack during last season when he scored around a third of our goals . He was also willing to play out of position when asked . He leaves with a record of 52 goals in 62 games , and will be hard to replace , the hat trick he scored in the 3-0 home win other Falmouth in March 2012 is one particular performance that was memorable . Hope it works out for you at Tiverton , myself The Bald One would certainly like you back at Bolitho Park if it doesn't .
  23. It was a case of forgetting the performance , but getting another game played and picking up the three points . We didn't play well by any means , but should have been clear by half time with several decent chances going begging . Some sloppy defending let Tavvy back into it either side of half time , but we were probably good value for the win in the end . Due to the fixture pile up we are looking at , it probably will be a case of doing what we have to do in order to pick up wins . There are several Parkway players who look well out of form at the moment , hopefully it is just due to the infrequency of matches . We did miss Ryan Richards and Steve Colwell last night , but they have moved on , it is now up to other players to step up . As for Tavvy , they worked hard and showed good spirit , I hope it's enough to keep them up .
