  1. No real surprise as he's barely featured this season. Will need replacing though as it leaves Parkway without any central defensive cover.
  2. Best knockout cup competion in England (better than both the FA Cup and Trophy). Long may it continue!
  3. Ben Adlesbury started for Tavi in their league defeat at home to Exmouth today. No word from them or Truro as to whether this is a loan or permanent arrangement.
  4. No idea if it was his or somebody else's idea to part ways, but looked like he was doing a good job. Another list of new sponsors/backers for City was announced this week (although the glaring lack of a shirt sponsor is there for all to see).
  5. Happens a lot in the Devon county cups. Parkway forfeited the tie and pulled out of the Devon Premier Cup last season. If, as I expect, we got similar levels of rain induced fixture chaos in the the South West this time around, then our Cornish step 4 clubs may well have similar decisions to make. Southern League Div 1 is now a 42 game (plus potential play offs) campaign.
  6. Excellent report, good to see Penzance involved at the right end of the table as well. One of the grand old names of Cornish football, well overdue a revival. One question though, what was the attendance like on his particularly bleak, rain lashed evening? Sounds like the playing surface, and more importantly, the drainage systems are doing exactly what they're designed to do.
  7. The next home league game is against most people's title favourites, Totton. Not sure why Matt Cusack would take the Parkway job. Top of the Southern League Div 1 and has his own group of players and staff in place, he would go straight into a relegation battle and an urgent squad rebuild at Bolitho.
  8. Listened to the commentary last night, sounded like an improvement on Saturday, but still a defeat. Yet again, the value of a goalscorer in this league was demonstrated. A 2nd half double from Toby Holmes (who's been prolific at this level for several clubs over many seasons) was the difference between the sides after Parkway got back into the game.
  9. Daft question, and sorry for not keeping up, but who are Dropship FC? Do they have an ambitious individual with deep pockets backing them, and might they be appearing at step 6 in a few seasons?
  10. Mousehole, while undoubtedly a very slick and talented passing side, were always thought of as lacking a bit of physicality last season and being vulnerable at defensive set pieces. The signing of James Ward certainly addresses that, a few of the other signings also look like, to quote Jake Ash in the CS Podcast last Friday "beasts." Mohammed Konte, Jordan Hackett and Torin Ntege seem to have a bit of speed and power about them. They look like a squad that can potentially go one better in the Southern Div 1 this time around.
  11. Wasn't a story knocking around 12 months ago that Mousehole also wanted Ward when they signed Josh Storey?
  12. Off topic I know, but did I see that Kai Cornish was playing for Dropship in the St Piran Div 2 West? If it was, that's way below the level he should be at.
  13. 8 ex Parkway players (including Jack Crago)in the most recent Helston starting line up.
  14. Accusing his players of not fancying the physical stuff, and then spending quite a chunk of a 6 minute interview having a go at the referee. Starting to sound, dare I say it, a bit Lee Hobbs.
  15. Well said. Football is very cyclical, no club has a right to see continous upward trajectory season after season. The low years often follow the years of highs. As my good friend has said above, there is now a group of Parkway supporters who only know the good times. If the club has to take a step or two back to keep going on a sustainable footing (and that would mean relegation), be interesting to see how they react. Supporters like The Bald One, who were there on miserable February afternoons and evenings at places like Witheridge and Camelford, will be the ones they need now.
  16. Chris McPhee's post match interview will make for a good watch. Doubt he'll use the word "progress" in this one...🙄
  17. Austen Booth now released (or sacked) by Torquay after receiving his 9 month suspension. Reading the details of his conviction by the FA, he actually bet on his side losing matches that he played in. In my opinion, very lucky to get away with 9 months. A superb player, but this and effectively going on strike at Taunton last season, seriously tarnishes his reputation.
  18. That was always going to be the problem for Chris McPhee, or indeed anybody who got the Parkway job. Lee Hobbs casts a long shadow over the club, understandably so as he was in charge during the club's rapid ascent from mid table step 6 to step 3. As long as they're not winning, the rumblings and discontent will only grow.
  19. Teigan Rosenquest return to Buckland has been confirmed.
  20. Remember well the trip to Ilfracombe with Parkway in the FA Vase of 2011/12. Took bloody hours to get there on the coach, a club official told the Bald One as soon as he got off the bus that "he had his eye on him as a potential trouble maker", Parkway kicked off with 10 in the driving rain (or so I remember) as Dennis Mason got lost on the way to the ground and finished with 9 as Glyn Hobbs got sent off for an elbow in the 1st half to be followed by Sam Chitty late in the 2nd. Ilfracombe scored the only goal from the resulting penalty. It was then a long and miserable trip home. No wish to ever go back there.
  21. Probably highlights the gap in quality between the Southern Prem and Southern Div 1. Chris McPhee spoke about his players having to shut out the "white noise" at Bolitho when they went to the break 2-1 down.,bit of discontent amongst the supporters?
