  1. Truro play twice at Bolitho before Parkway return home on Tues 24th January. Parkway management must always be anxious about City playing, and then rendering the surface unusable for their own matches.
  2. Danny Sullivan limped off against Chesham a few weeks ago with, what looked like, a hamstring injury. Possible he's not completely over it.
  3. Hendon 2 Truro 2 Not sure if was 2 points dropped today for City, or 1 gained on what is usually a happy hunting ground. Took the lead early on through Connor Riley- Lowe (scoring for the 3rd successive game), and Rocky Neal shortly afterwards hit the underside of the bar from close range. Hendon came into the game though carving a couple of openings, and deservedley went in at half time level. They took the lead shortly after the break, but lost concentration almost quickly afterwards and allowed Ben Adlesbury to nod in from a set piece. Have to say that it was a pretty flat performance from City against a hard working, well organised Hendon side, who didn't really threaten much going forward. Significant that both of Truro's normally potent front pair were subbed off. Neal was his usual tireless self, and certainly showed plenty of willingness to chase lost causes, but Tyler Harvey was pretty anonymous both in general play and in front of goal.
  4. Yes, home form is play off worthy. Taken points of Chesham and Truro. Beaten play off contenders Salisbury, Tiverton and Hayes Just need to get the games played !
  5. Between Parkway and Truro, there are 23 home matches to play in the 15 remaining weeks of the season. One consolation is that teams really don't like making long midweek trips to Plymouth.
  6. Interesting thought Jon, wonder if the CCFA could take it on and use it for this purpose. Would be heart breaking to see the ground fall into disrepair and the pitch being reduced to overgrown weeds (or worse, being developed for housing), especially after all the money and hard work that is gone into making it a step 6 facility.
  7. Plenty of things require paying for besides players. Gas, electric, water, insurance, equipment, playing kit and clothing, laundry, match officials, maintenance of grounds/pitch, the list goes on and on.
  8. When was the last time a Cornish side won the South Western League with no Plymouth or Devon based players? Certain that it's never happened in the Peninsula League era, and you'll probably have to go back several decades (going to have a stab and say either the Newquay or Falmouth Town title winning sides of the 80's/early 90's). Something for any local football historians on here.
  9. Perhaps Westy was behind the original post? Would be a stroke of motivational genius.
  10. Would add Mikey Williams to that as well. He used to contribute double figure goal tallies each season, but is now employed on the left hand side of a back 3 (and is playing very well there). The home league form is very good for Parkway, 4 games won and 1 drawn from last 5. With 4 at Bolitho in January there is a great opportunity for getting more points on the board and climbing the table. The away form, even though the defence has tightened up and defeats are now only coming by the odd goal, is not good. P9 W1 D2 L6 are the facts, with none scored in 4 of the last 5. Interesting to note as well that Ben Seymour has only scored once on the road in league games.
  11. Bridgwater and Saltash slipping up again, and Helston taking points off Shepton Mallet. Good day for Mousehole all round.
  12. Surely you mean Keith Manley And The Wailers?
  13. She's a lucky lady, my wife's personal favourite is the King Harry Ferry. Very scenic.
  14. Why does it have to be "chairman" or "chairwoman?" Would it not be simpler just to say "Chair?"
  15. Assuming that none of The Ashes players are on contracts.
  16. Truro will be hoping that Parkway do them a favour against Weston. Know that it's a league game, but could be interesting if Lee Hobbs employs the same tactics that bottled up Oxford City and frustrated Barnet.
  17. Second half of the Western League season should be quite interesting. Mousehole (on a long unbeaten league run since August) and Shepton Mallet well placed to apply pressure on the second promotion position, especially if Saltash do suffer a post Krac reaction. Agree with what you say about Helston, still feels like a side that Matt Cusack is developing. Rikki Shepherd hasn't quite been the player that he was at Millbrook (perhaps still getting over the long term injury he had last season), and Rubin Wilson seems to have faded after a good start. He's not scored in the league since October.
  18. Quick look at the SL website shows that they would be 5 points worse off now if all matches had finished after 85 minutes. (It really is the post Christmas.pre New Year "dead zone.")
  19. Good call on Henry Wilson. He is that sort of player who doesn't get noticed when he plays, but is missed when he doesn't . Sits in midfield, wins the ball and gives it simply but effectively (bit like Christian Pople, thought that he would have made a great replacement for him at Parkway a few years back).
  20. Just watched the highlights on Truro's social media (still can't understand why Parkway seemingly don't want their supporters to know about these), and watched respective manager's post game comments. One regarded it as a thriller, the other a dull game with soft goals. Those at the game can decide which was more accurate. From a league table point of view, Hayes did Truro a big favour by winning at in form Chesham while Parkway sink to second bottom with sides around them picking up points. True, plenty of games in hand, but they need to get something from these. One of these sides on display today will be focusing on securing a play off place in the second half of the season (it is vital that they snap out of this current dip though) while the other needs to concentrate on staying up.
  21. Intriguing. Would it involve a coach that has usually stepped down from his role at a step 5 club?
  22. The people who make the statements about the relative merits of JBE and Tyler Harvey, probably don't appreciate the jump in standard between step 5 and step 3 football. Saltash United are top of the Western League (and currently the second best Cornish club), but doubt any of their team would make it into the Truro City side.
  23. 10th in a step 5 league with roughly half the season gone, and top of the attendance table for this league (373 average ).Sure a lot of other clubs wouldn't mind this sort of downfall.
