  1. He's been scoring goals for a long time, good to see he's recovered from wearing a hefty knee brace a couple of years ago.

  3. Agree with higher clubs getting byes. But I didn't agree with SL being allowed to enter it as I think at some point you become "too senior" and it's either too easy for them or alternatively the extra games would be a hinderance and it wouldn't be a priority in their already busy schedules. The gap in quality between the SL and SWL, and between WL and St Piran is huge, probably far greater than people realise until you see the proof. A post above says Foxhole vs St Austell would be nice, but that was a friendly last month and it was a cricket score, even though Foxhole are one of the leading clubs in the St Piran Leagues. Years ago St Teath drew Bodmin in the cup and it finished 15-0. Not enjoyable for anyone. The introduction of the Intermediate Cup allows Step 7 and below their own opportunities for cup runs and success.

  7. Not last weekend. Tall young lad at the back. Then moved into midfield. Played last season as captain too and looks like he will be a good player for Liskeard.

  11. I was thinking this myself. Not a good advert for the league and worrying starts for them both. Millbrook had a similar start last year but hopefully these two are just one offs.
  12. I imagine quite low. The St Piran League have a benevolent fund for this precise reason and it was utilised very little last season as I remember them publishing the details. If players do get injured and need time off work, get your secretary to raise with the league as it's a very simple form to help cover loss of earnings.
  13. I heard Ed Harrison had a decent offer from Taunton and he was bound to leave Langarth. Good news to Tavi he's stayed.
  14. I agree to a point as it's happening county wide that players are playing into later years now for that reason. Where are the young lads that live in Illogan and surrounding areas? When I watched Illogan firsts last November, their side wasn't too youthful either, so they're not playing there. There's a few clubs in that area either side of the A30 so maybe a case of too many clubs within a stone's throw.
  15. I wonder how many unused pitches there are now, or have lost in the past to clubs folding, like Bugle for example. I saw the other day Lanivet had folded after finishing a strong 5th in Div 2 East last season. That's a great pitch for the St Piran League.
