That’s was a good game of two good footballing teams - and Camelford were unlucky to come away with their only defeat of the short season.
Which is why I don’t think that the remaining ‘big’ clubs will have an easy ride next season. Camelford, Dobwalls, Wadebridge and Liskeard (to name a few) have all developed and  all showed that the likes of Falmouth / St Austell / Bodmin and Newquay (two of whom Camelford beat relatively comfortably) will have to earn the right for promotion.
Penryn moving up are a good side, St Blazey will be strong, and if the bottom couple of teams strengthen the League will still be strong.

Weren't Helston and Mousehole considered to be "weaker" teams 4-5 years ago? There is the opportunity for other clubs to challenge, it was great to see the likes of Camelford and Dobwalls taking on the more established clubs last season. Others could follow this lead.
I suspect as well that a few players from the promoted clubs will decide (for their own reasons) not to make the step up, they could well appear in the SWPL next season.

Having watched a fair bit of Western League football over the last two seasons - all three will be top half and I could easily see two of them challenging for the top slot - bearing in mind some good WL teams have moved sideways out of the WL. Just hope they can keep it going and actually use plenty of Cornish players.

Personally think it’s a good move and will make the West SWPL more competitive next season - and that there are a few clubs that will surprise those who  support the old guard teams - easy to forget the actual playing performance last season and just remember the big clubs.

If true, would be a good fit. Luke, for me, is the best young keeper in the league and one to watch out for in the future.

Interesting posts - have only just seen this. Whilst everyone is talking about Saltash and Helston / Mousehole - a bit of perspective from a ‘smaller’ club. Helston invested massively two seasons ago and with their squad would have won the league and been promoted - that season was null and void - this season they have been ‘average’ and have not been the best in the league. Mousehole and Saltash have been constant over the two years and few would argue they are the SWPL west most consistent side over two year - unlike many, I have watched all three play.
That said ‘little’ Camelford have played to a modest budget - built over three years and this season would of been on the same PPG as both Mousehole and Saltash - a team moving forward like M&S - any decision about promotions should only be based on the here and now (or not at all to make it fair on teams two years ago). Helston being considered for promotion this season does not sit well as they haven’t deserved it - although I believe the decisions will be based on who has applied, rather than who merits it.

Would it be Green and Black or just an off grey colour - the St Austell strip that has been through the wash a few too many times? Lol

I have washed my hands with it Silly Billy.
I'm done from all this from now.
Hearing today St. Blazey are keeping their duo in charge, after the committee have bottled out of dismissing them. Frightened.
They dismissed Danny Bance a few season back after a poor string of results, yet this leadership take a group of players on a night out, a piss up, a social, breaking rules set out by the Government & Police whilst people are dying alone without families by their side.
The Committee are weak of this IF this is  correct, & deserve Everything that will come there way, from petitions from the local Hospitals ( hearing this already in motion) & I know of two people who have sadly passed away from Covid, taken far to soon,  BOTH their families WILL be attending the next fixture at Blaise Park as they would like to hear from Management as to why they find it acceptable for them to completely discard the guidelines, & Committee to see how they can defend a duo who let this happen so openly, flaunting the law with arrogance.
Many many respected guys involved in local football have agreed these people don't belong in football, after all the other incidents during the last 8 months involving the club, if what I'm hearing is correct, & you are keeping the culprits, then club hold your heads in shame.
People have died, will continue to die, some young, some old, some alone without family to hold their hands.
If you agree with me, please just 'like' this post. I know I can ruffle a few feathers most of time , but this is real life, I find this absolutely criminal.
Stay safe all, from someone who has lost two friends from this Killer disease. Let's hope 2021 doesn't have as much sorrow.

100% - was good to catch up, hopefully Smokie has warmed up by now - it was bitter
Not a bad game, weather and pitch considering. St Austell play some lovely football, but I actually thought St Demnis had the better clear cut chances - they probably should have been up at H/T despite St Austell having most of the play. Good goal, created by Tiago, but I don’t understand why the St Dennis Manager took so long to change it around as he was beating their right back every time - once Ed Timmons moved out wide at the back, St Austell lost their cutting edge. After the goal and sending off I thought game over, but St Dennis suddenly woke up and should have equalised - two clear chances which were harder to miss than score. St Austell probably edged it but only just. Also good to see two of the best keepers in the league - Chippy and out of retirement SPB  both had good days

A decent debut from st Dennis young left back along with a very impressive debut from spb in goal,st Dennis unlucky not to come away with a draw but on another day st Austell could of had a couple more too.

Everybody has different views on it, I’ve made my disgust known - but it’s probably attracted more comments because of the lack of any other local football being on. For those who think it has nothing to do with the FA or League - I would just remind them that two games were cancelled because of this - not a player catching the virus in their normal routine but a deliberate act - surely they should forfeit the games - then St Blazey committee can look at what (if any) internal action they feel meets the circumstances of their club being dragged ‘through the mill’ - they are the only ones whose view really count on this.

Im off to get cold and soaked watching St Austell v St Dennis - can’t put up with any more food / drink and crap telly.

100% - have as good a day as you can, I know it’s not been a good year, but I’m sure we will all have a toast to remember those we are missing - it’s not been a great year for our small football group. Shame your game is at 12 otherwise you and Smokie could have popped up to the Camels game, where you both would have been spoiled.

The club, committee and supporters had absolutely nothing to do with this, but will ‘carry the can’ . Paul and all those involved with the club will be devastated - as a local football fan I would always remain 100% behind them and support St Blazey - but can have nothing to do with those involved nor attend / support their continued revival without independent action - having spent a year abiding by COVID rules, having lost a close family member and having Xmas (and the year) ruined - surely a stand has to be made - not one forced by the FA but one by a hard working honest club - every other club would stand side by side with them- if they did the ‘right thing’.

I wasn’t going to comment as this is a police and ccfa/ league / club matter - but I have just heard the St Blakey’s managers own posting on their team group WhatsApp page - who shared it is amazing but what an absolute idiot and if St Blazey do not deal with this situation promptly it will drag the club into a situation out of their control and something they may not recover from. He was berating players for giving their real names / mentioning the club and how the premises owner was wrong and out of order. Have to say though some of the other stuff on social media / Fake Wikipedia page is hilarious - if is wasn’t so serious to us all entering Tier 2 because of idiots like this.

Panda and WofTP - I totally agree about the Vase being a great competition, my point was not to deride that, simply in this exceptional year where clubs have been under huge financial pressures and no likelihood of the Vase finishing - missing Xmas games may not make sense?

Falmouth, surly, need to make an early decision on this game. The Vase is great but are they really going to go much further in it - just being realistic. If they lose this game they get £350 - a home fixture on Boxing Day will probably be a sell out with £1800 gate and then bar / food money - and if Mousehole were on board a split gate for their game could raise another  £500-£900 and no excessive travelling?? The Vase is virtually certain NOT to complete this year with COVID - time to think practically and withdraw or send an u18 team? - just a thought.
