Scott Burgess now signs. A serious player at this level and above who was a free agent after being released by York City, and is well known to John Askey. I think, an addition to get excited about, and it possibly signals that the owners are thinking of more than just consolidation this season

Ian Pethick.... just for your information the 2021 census gives Truros population as 23,000+ and Kenwyns population as 7,000+. Kenwyn is effectively part of Truro- Langarth, Truro college and even Truro hospital are all in Kenwyn so Truro's real population is 30,000+.
Cornwalls population is about 550,000 roughly the same as  Bristol sustain 2e they manage to sustain 2 EFL clubs and a whole host of non league clubs.
I think there potential to grow Truro's attendances without impacting on other Cornish clubs.

A great win...only adds to the number of folk,  that may want to watch City, in their new ground!
The right end of the table, after 5 games...a good start, gives so much confidence for the club and all concerned.

Well, I went along to the ground today.  Followed the crowds!  There was a group in front of ne crossing from TMS asking which way it was though.

Great set up and pitch looked incredible, well done Gary.  Certainly helps when you have a day like today up there though, playing/watching there on a winters day when it’s windy is going to be brutal.

Truro were quality today against a poor Worthing side who offered nothing!
I think some were complaining about the PA system before, well I think they’ve sorted that out!  But jeez, the bloke talked more than he needed.  Also there were 1564 (I think) in the ground and they were fully aware of the score!!
    I enjoyed it

Great away win for City at one of the promotion favourites Maidstone.
1st half goal from Oxlade-Chamberlain and a 2nd goal late in the game from Tyler Harvey to seal the 3 points.

Firstly I will say I agree with a lot that's said above but after 'my club' has been homeless for 4 years I am seeing g far more positives than negatives. Given the amount of people who turned up I think the Club's organisation was excellent in terms of preparation,  turnstiles, stewarding, food and drink outlets etc. This is just phase 1, there is more to follow and we will have a set-up to be proud of.
I am hoping among the early priorities will be an improvement/increase in seating, cover and PA system. It is early days and it will all come in time.
For me, so far it's well done TCFC.

Congrats to City on a fantastic crowd today!! Not sure anyone would have gone for 2700 almost a sell out!! Like Chris said, so nice to see so many old Truro players there, going back 50/60 years in some cases!! And a lot of people who were proper old stalwarts of the club through thick and thin. Everyone seemed to turn out for the clubs special day. Made my 1st team debut for Truro when I was 15 still at Richard Lander School when Tony Roberts was manager against Launceston in the Charity Cup and I saw 5 players today even from that team 42 years ago!! Like Craze said, quite an emotional day in many respects, thinking about some who are no longer with us who would have loved it today. Thought Tyler had a great game and deserved to be the scorer of City’s 1st ever goal on the new ground. Told his dad Lee he would be bout 3 minutes before he scored!! Looked really sharp all game, class striker. Just one downside, came out the ground at 5.20 and didn’t get out the park & ride until 6.05!! Loads of traffic in the same boat though!! Got out of Old Trafford on a champions league night quicker than that!! Well done to everyone who made today happen though, one to remember, what a pitch!! Made up for seeing that sign in the field for 4 years every time I drove past thinking it would never happen!!! 👍⚽️👏🏼 Well done City

Lol I was in the stand behind the goal and my watch told me numerous times that the decibel level was dangerous for my health - it was loud!
Whether that atmosphere was lost because of the open nature of the stadium isn’t anyone’s fault.
There were plenty who had had a few and a lot of chanting and singing going on.
Need maybe a few more songs as I’m heavily fatigued from spelling our clubs name. Thank god we’re not Middlesbrough!
Absolutely fab day out - I really hope the word spreads and those crowds level out comfortably at 4 figures.
    Cornwall deserves nice things!

From the Club website... City have signed Christian Oxlade-Chamberlain on a 3 mo th loan from Kidderminster. The 24yr old is the brother of former Arsenal and Liverpool player Alex. A product of the Portsmouth Academy. He is eligible to play from tomorrow.

Truro City are delighted to announce the signing of Seidou Sanogo on a two-year deal, until the summer of 2026.
Sanogo, a midfielder by trade, has been training with the Tinners’ first team squad throughout pre-season and he caught in the eye in friendly victories over Torpoint Athletic and Willand Rovers.
Last season, Sanogo was a regular for Isthmian Premier Division side Folkestone Invicta, where he bagged eight goals. Prior to joining the Step Three outfit in December 2023, he previously played for Chatham Town, helping the Chats win the Isthmian League South East title in 2022-23.
“I am very happy and the club are perfect for me,” he told trurocity.co.uk. “The style the team play is good and the manager has been pushing for me to sign because he believes we will do very well in this league.
“For me, I will always work hard to try my best for the badge and for the fans and so far, I am really enjoying it.
“I can see that this club is a project that is building momentum with a new stadium and that will mean more fans can come and see us express ourselves as players.
“I think this will a good year for Truro City, helped by the new manager, who is very experienced at this level.
“I feel that this is right move for me at this moment in time and although I was pleased with my performances in the two friendlies, there is more to come from me in a Truro City shirt.”

According  to the Club website the signing of Dan brings the current squad up to 14. I am sure there is work going on behind the scenes to boost this number.

You beat me to it mate!! When Deacs and I visited the ground a couple months ago Nige, John and Rosey was saying the capacity will be set at 3000 for now but there’s loads of potential for obviously a lot more as and when required. How good would that be to see Truro v Torquay attract a 3000 crowd to the ground in its first season!! Sure there will be a lot of interest for that game no doubt! As we know Nige, there’s only one Bickland Park, iconic Cornish ground which can’t be beaten for me, although how lucky are we to have some fantastic venues in Cornish football!! Langarth will be right up there when it’s all finished for sure, unreal views already!! The lads have done a superb job no doubt about it and anyone will be impressed when they visit for the first time! Personally even though I was involved at Exeter for a bit I always like to see Argyle, Torquay, and obviously born and bred in Truro want to see all our top clubs do well whatever pro level they play at, good for Westcountry football. Hopefully Falmouth and Helston will do us proud along with Mousehole again in the Southern league, next season should be a great one to follow for all us lovers of Cornish football 👍⚽️👏🏼

Thank you Ian for posting that.
I feel we are about to start an exciting new era in Cornish Football with Mousehole, Falmouth and Helston now up to Southern League level and Truro coming back home to a new stadium. I'm really looking forward to the new season  and being able to watch the highest level of football Cornwall has ever had. For me it will probably be watching Truro's home matches and when they are away choosing one of the Southern league games on offer.
My dream scenario would be in about 3 years time to see both Truro and Falmouth playing in the  National league Premier.
That's a cue for St.Darren to come in and tell me I'm completely deluded just like he did a few years ago when I said one day Truro would beat Torquay in a competitive league match. 😄
