A.Bystander
Given the recent run of results, just who are the Underdogs this weekend? Last season saw both sides lose at home when they went head to head, who will be the conqueror this weekend? Will the pitch be fit for Saturday? Will the crowd be as big? Will the Judge be attending? Will the Christmas Punch be flowing? All in all its lining up for yet another classic local derby! Good Luck to both Sides! 12 Noon Mount Wise:- season’s greetings to one and all! :clapper:
Lee_
On current form you would have to say that Godolphin are favourites however derbies are often unpredictable.

derek martyn
We have been playing very well recently, there can be no doubting that. But lets keep things in perspective here fellas. This is still very much a David and Golieth fixture. We operate very much in the shadow of one of cornwall's biggest Clubs with a healthy playing budget, prestige, history, experience, youth set up, Ground facilites, etc. They finished second in the league last season, are currently sitting fourth as one of the fancied teams to win the league, and are playing at home. We have claimed some big scalps recently and we will certainly be going into this match trying to claim what for us is the biggest scalp of them all. But we are certainly not favourites. We know that Newquay are a top side and that this is a hugely difficult game for us, but one which everybody at the Club is very much looking forward to. Roll on Boxing Day, when the only place to be at high noon is Mount Wise ! Merry Christmas to all

This is one game that all football fans in and around Newquay should have marked on their calenders since the fixtures were announced in the summer. Having gotten hold of a copy of the Programme from the Newquay v Hayle game, the notes state that 'The Judge' underwent surgery at Derriford Hospital last week on a spinal injury, although someone did tell me he was at the match and was very subdued in more than one way. With Godolphin higher than Newquay in the SWPL, recent form suggests an away win. The weather looks like wind and rain, that may keep a few folk away from the match so perhaps another record crowd is unlikely.
skyblueref
Hard place to go and win at newq id say the G are the underdogs!!! Hayle had no problem last week. A draw would be the best result for them.
baldy
Last boxing day's result was a bit of a shock but I fear this year it won't be. Nqy have lost their way recently and seriously need 3 defenders. Also the players need to play in their "natural" positions. As Alf Ramsey said : "I don't necesarrily pick the best players, but I do pick the best team". Here's hoping the best team is selected, else it's defo an away win. derek martyn
Hi Bazzer, North of £250 per match (£9k+ a season, depending on cup runs) is healthy money in this division and massive money in our book, substantialy more than £0.00. C U Boxing day, lets hope your brilliant groundsman can work his magic on the pitch in time. I hear it was trashed by the vets on Tuesday, even before Saturdays rain sodden match, so he will no doubt have his work cut out. Derek
metts
cheep shot again about the vets i know at newquay their very very well thought of as of all the sides that represent newquay , and all the best to the lads at godolphin their doing there selves proud this season , newquay go into the game eyes wide open and we know were the underdogs , the facts speak for them selves, the g have the leagues leading scorer, unbeaten for a number of games , on a fantastic roll , and sit above newquay ,and just beat the league leaders , so anything but a g victory would be unexpected , we will go about our buisness as professional as always ,and try to get the 3 points which are on offer on boxing day , we will keep our buisness in house and get on with things , except the banter enjoy the day and have a chat and pint afterwards , but sometimes respect is earned never demanded , metts
derek martyn
Not sure what all that was about but was told by several players who played in a vets match last Tuesday that the pitch finished in a quagmire, maybe i was mis-informed but i doubt it.
