Ashes 4 Liskeard 0

Recommended Posts

1st league win since Oct 30th.

Ashes dominated 1st half Carlton Farnham having 2 early shots before he put Ashes 1 up with a shot that the keeper allowed to creep in under his body. Chances to go further ahead were denied by a goal line clearance and a wild wide shot by Menhenhick. Liskeard had 1 1st half shot, went well wide. HT 1 nil

Ashes started 2nd half where they left off in first although Liskeard had their chances but Griffiths was on form saving 2 shots. They went 2 up from a corner. Menhenick with a class looping header over the keeper.

The 3rd goal came after lengthy treatment to Ashes Sam Hughes, who was taken out by Liskeard keeper in a one on one on the edge of the box. After more treatment off the field Hughes returned and was on hand to tap in the 3rd following a spilled saved from a Farnham shot by Liskeard keeper (justice).

Liskeard down to 10 men after their no4 got his 2nd yellow.

4th goal Gavin Coulton pick up a loose pass by a tired Liskeard defender ran the ball into the box and fired into bottom left hand corner.

Mondays game gonna be a lot tougher.

Why was it justice that hughes scored a spiled shot from the keeper. The challenge which led to hughes needing treatment was a 50-50 between him and the keeper, keeper won the ball with his head and his momentum carried him into hughes, no malice and definatly not a foul/red card that the ahses players were demanding. Credit to hughes who was willing and had the heart to go for a 50 50 with a 6 foot 4 keeper and good to see him come back on after

Excuse me !!!!! Farnhams goal was allowed to creep under his body. To much of the christmas cheer methinks. Farnham cut inside beat a defender, delayed his shot until able to fire one in and a goal was scored. Crept under his body indeed,
