BUCKLAND ATH 2 SALTASH UTD 1

Buckland came from one nil down at half time and switched things around.

New signing Simon Revell excelled in midfield with sub Anthony Lynch getting the leveller and Shane Gill popping the winner late into added time.

Buckland took total control in the second half to go 5 points clear at the top tonight.

Newquay 4-2 Truro City Res.

Truro opened the scoring with a well taken shot that went in off the post. Luke Weldhen equalised with a good goal after some sweet build up play. Then an own goal and a header from Robbo gave Newquay a 3-1 h/t lead. Newquay added a fourth when Sam Hunter headed in Jake Hartigans freekick. Truro got a second about 10 mins or so from the end after a long ball caused some confusion in the Newquay defence and the attacker poked it past Scott Palmer who was in goal today.

Overall a pretty comfortable win against a Truro team who are clearly feeling the after effects of so many players departing recently. Headcount from one of the supporters put the crowd at 98.

St Blazey 3v0 Penzance.

The title challenge is over for this season without a doubt.

Today was a shocker from start to finish. Lost the toss and then from kick off passed it our wide and it went straight under our left backs foot and out for a throw in. From there it was all down hill. The first goal after just a few minutes was a freekick that took a big defection straight to a Pz player who headed home. It could have been so different if Zallick had finished a good move that missed by inches but that was sadly the end of St Blazeys decent attacks. Even though Pz were reduced to ten men you wouldnt have known. Pz certainly went in heavy in the tackles, how some didnt get even more yellow cards god only nows. But thats when you need to get in and give out what your taking but St Blazey didnt and got what they desearved......nothing!!

Maybe we all got carried away with being top but without doubt Glynn and Laffs are doing a cracking job. With a very small budget its all down to hard work and wanting to play for the club. Theres alot to look forward to. Still some decent games to watch this season in a bid to end the season in the top 4. Were still in the senior cup and tomorrow St Blazeys sunday team have their cup semi final.

For me, its all Bucklands to loose now. They have played most of the top sides and have alot of games to play against mid table and bottom of the table sides where as the likes of St Blazey, Bodmin, Falmouth, Parkway still have to play each other meaning there will be alot of dropped points.

Still, never say never.....Bodmin away on wednesday night. Admission is half price!!!!!

Less i believe but all coming from hard work from the committed few to raise funds.

Looking forward to all day pool comps during the seasons break and other activities being planned to pull in the extra pounds to fund the club. Its not all about 3pm on a saturday. ;)

Porthleven 1 Dobwalls 2

The game was fiercely contested and the ref did well to control things.

Dobwalls should have been out of site by half time but failed to make the most of their chances.

Jack Bartlett did open the scoring for the visitors and shortly after the break Matt Lindsays shot from outside the box bounced over the diving keeper.

the hosts pulled a goal back with time running out but could not breakdown the solid defence of the visitors.

Stuart Dunn hit a fierce drive just before the end that beat the keeper but cannoned off the bar to safety.

Many thanks to Porthleven for their superb hospitality.
