P/P were the pre-season favs to win the league & I haven't heard anyone disagree since. They do, however have 9 games to play in 32 days. Newquay finish with 4 away games.

Hayle have been the dark horses all season and still have P/P and St Awful to play.

With Mount Wise being, I believe, the only ground to have been passed a previous ground rating, the Q as to who, if anyone, will be promoted remains in doubt.

St.Austell now have planning permission for floodlights and anybody who has visited Poltair in recent months will have seen tremendous ground improvements already with more in the pipeline - that's a slow process however when you're dealing with council landlords! Poltair has its SWPL inspection soon which Town will hopefully pass.

Who will win the league and/or be in a position to go up is however far from certain. Last night was a vital win for St.Austell but all sides have tough games to come. As you say, Newquay have no home games left and Perranporth have it in their own hands - it's anybody's guess really.

Throgmorton Cup Semi Final :

AET

Buckland Ath 2 Royal Marines 1

I have to say the Marines made Buckland work very, very hard and where and excellent strong side.

They would easily hold their own in the premier league.

With Bodmin and Parkway drawing 0 - 0 it was a good night for the Bucks.

Great performance by Buckland,

Gavin Hammon scored just before the interval making it 1-1,

Then in the 1st period of Extra Time Darren Vicary scored from a 30 yard free kick.

Sending Bucks Fans Mental !!

Well Done Buckland,

Speeds Meadow Here We Come On Bank Holiday Monday.

Just Heard that Bodmin only drew 0-0 with Plymouth Parkway.

SWPL Div 1 West Result

Porthleven 0 - 3 Perranporth

Two goals from Mikey Davies and one from Kayne Trevaskis secured victory for Perranporth, but full credit to Porthleven they kept battling away from start to finish. Good luck to Porthleven in there remaining games.

Perran's next game is away to Camelford on Saturday at 3.00pm

Guest Uncle Albert

Bodmin 0 Parkway 0

Bodmin dropped two points but it could have been worse because it took a man of the match display by reserve goalkeeper Tom Vercoe to deny Parkway victory.

Vercoe denied Chris Wright and Lee Doel late on, and then John Heveran headed against the bar from six yards when it looked easier to score.

Bodmin could have stolen it in the seventh minute of time added on when Tom Chambers mis-kicked from six yards, but that would have been very harsh on Parkway, who played particularly well.

Just read the match report for the Withy/Cully game on the Cullompton website in which they state Jamie Cottrell should of had a stonewall penalty!!!! Well all i can say about that is i was ten yards away from it and seeing as it was a so called stonewall penalty why didn't the lad appeal himself?? It was no way a penalty maybe clutchin at straws and lookin for an excuse to grass over the fact that on the night Cullompton were very poor and Witheridge fully deserved their easy win.
