Buckland 8-0 Penzance

Pz down to 9 men

After watching buckland a few weeks ago against torpoint I didnt think they were that good and said i

didnt think they would win the league Oops bit rash since then parkway and bodmin have dropped points

yet buckland relentlessly churn out convincing wins

Hats off to you bucks guess i'll start eating my words

much respect :clapper:

Buckland 8-0 Penzance

Pz down to 9 men

Buckland were 2 nil up in the first 5 minutes as Penzance were not at the races.

2 more goals before half time and made the second half very easy.

Buckland again before Penzance had a player sent off for a deliberate kick out at Antony Lynch.

Danny Gaze scored from the resulting free-kick from 25 yards out.

Another two more goals were scored by the Yellows to make it 8 (eight) before Penzance went down to nine men when one of their defenders limped off and all of the subs had been made.

Goals scored by:

Antony Lynch (3)

Danny Gaze

Danny Lewis

Si Revell

Ben Williamson (first goal for 2 seasons)

Mike Booth

Attendance: 121, Penzance were not that bad of a team and can easily see why they were in the top 5.

Bucklands biggest win ever in the SWPL.

Newquay v Camelford

Kicked off at 4.08pm after the ref was a no show, had to call in a replacement from.... Camelford. The ref actually had a good game, let it flow and kept his cards in his pocket when others would have been flashing yellows and reds left, right and centre.

Newquay lost their 100% record after going down 0-3 at Mount Wise to a side they had never lost to in any previous meeting. Att 81.

Ivybridge Town 1 Tavistock 0

Evenly fought game, in which only 1 goal was going to prove to be enough. However, Tavistock will be wondering how they failed to take all 3 pts.

Having be awarded a cast iron penalty, the taker put the ball hard and low to the keepers left, but at also went to the left of the post resulting in a missed chance which for both sides would very limited. Half chances were the order of the day, but then Tavistock had their 2nd goldern chance to take the lead, the striker having been put through and then fouled by the defender (outside the box)stayed on his feet, the refeere played the advantage rule, no problems with that, however, after the keeper(Dave Painter) had made a great save, the refeere decide that the advantage wasnt good enough and awarded them a free kick. The defender was shown the red card. The ref must apply the same rules , as when in the 1st half the Tavistock fullback who brought down the Ivybridge attacker (who would have been clear on goal)was only shown the yellow card. This was not the only strange decision by made by the ref and at times had both sets of supporters wandering what was going on.

Ivybridge were then playing with 10 men for the final 10 mins, Tavistock threw everything at the home side but just could not find the goal, with better finishing and on another day, the score may have been different, however, the game turned towards the home side when the Ivybridge striker Joe Truelove scored the killer goal in the final 2 mins from about 8 yards after a neat flick on to him. Ivybridge managed to hang on for the final 2 mins and claim a most vaulable 3 pts and stay in 3rd place.

Yet another point dropped by St.Austell in conceding a late goal as Royal Marines got their winner in injury time. That is I think the 4th time we've dropped points in this fashion.

To be fair the Marines out-muscled us for an hour and deserved their lead but a great strike to equalise brought us to life and for 10 minutes we looked a totally different team. However a late corner for Marines saw supporters predicting the worst and we were sadly proved right.

St.Austell have just about everything right off the pitch at the moment - we just need to be able to hang onto a lead or accept a point as these mistakes could prove costly even at this early stage of the season.
