Buckland 3 Falmouth 0

Buckland started like a house on fire and scored within the 1st 2 minutes where Boothy ran through to beat the offside trap and left With the defenders appealing for a flag that never came. Boothy rounded the keeper and slid the ball into a open net.

Falmouth were playing some neat football but could not trouble Baker in the Bucks goal, to their credit falmouth were playing well and Buckland were chasing shadows and were second best all over the pitch.

Half time came with a slim 1`0 lead and were glad to hear the half time whistle so Mass could rally his troops for the second half.

Buckland scored a second, with some class 1- 2 passes on the edge of the box and the ball was thread through for booth who finished with a class finish in the 46 minute this seemed to knock the stuffing out of Falmouth and the game was as good as one as they tried to foul at every opportunity and at least 5 players went into the refs book.

Baker made one first class save, but he stayed on the floor, he had treatment but Baker went down again in the next attack and was taken off the pitch. for Stuart Morgan to come off from the bench and go in between the sticks.

Stuart made some good catches but Falmouth rarely troubled him as his defence stood strong and a clean sheet was the order of the day.

Bucklands 3rd came when a through ball from midfield saw Gilly run into the box were it looked like he had taken it to far and was then sythed down by the keeper for a penalty. up stood Danny Gaze to take the penalty who blasted the ball into the net giving the keeper no chance. 3 0

Buckland saw out time, and the run goes on 9 from 9.

News that Bodmins own run had come to an end, was met by a loud cheer from the Buckland supporters, as the players left the pitch.

Saltash Tuesday.

News that Bakes had dislocated his shoulder came through in the cluhouse and will probably miss Tusday nights game.

Best wishes to Ian Baker, Si revell and Gavin Hammon who are on the Buckland injury list, this is why Buckland will nead a big squad to try and retain their Trophy in May.

BUCKLAND STRONGER THAN FALMOUTH.....

Read the report on the game didnt agree with all that was said but overall Falmouth cant complain about the result....

The first goal for Buckland was on side without a doubt ... yet Flynn made the school boy error of claiming then deciding to go for the man... who took it well..

Falmouth should have and could have equalised a great interchange with Green and Fice left Green with great chance which he blasted over the bar, should have done better....

Falmouth were the better team in the first half but had no real cutting edge in front of goal but were always fragile at the back...

Barwell is no left back, and with no pace in the centre Buckland were bound to score again...Carey has got to sort out the defence... BUCKLAND's defence was strong and they built this win on the back of this good solid defence...at time crude in the tackle but that is part of the game....

The second goal, for Buckland was nice to watch....but the third the penalty... well the attacker for Buckland should apply to be Tom Daley's new partner at the commonwealth games...

The game was still there at 3 0 for Falmouth to get something when the keeper got injured... but they didnt test the lad who stepped up to go in goal....

Falmouth's side this year may be techincally better than last year...but it is no team....Miller playing out of position...still never looked up to pass....no 'I' in team but there is in MIller...too many of the Falmouth team have this attitude...

Buckland will win the title ...they are a team, built on solid foundations....

Carey should get the drawing board out again....

Have to say the ref had a pretty poor game, and lost control... should have shut up Flynn early on ....was a bit of a homer....

St Blazey 4v2 Witheridge.

Good atmosphere today withy Withy bringing their ususal blue coloured supporters. Always good to see a good away following. We will be travelling in good numbers ourselves next saturday when we head for Bridlington near Bristol. One coach and many car loads already full and setting off nice and early for a good breakfast on the way.

As for today, Withy looked good during the first half and had some good efforts on goal with Tom pulling off some fine saves and a few flying past each post. St Blazey didnt pose much threat but did hit the bar. the second saw Withy awarded a soft penalty when Luke Rundle fell on the ball and hand ball given. After the ref made sure no one was running into the area the penalty was saved and just a couple minutes later St Blazey were ahead. Danny Zallick finding the top corner with a quality strike. A few minutes later Reski scored from a freekick straight into the top corner and the missed penalty was well and truly punished. Withys goal keeper made some fine saves to stop it becoming three but Sam Cooper broke the offside trap and curled a great effort into the top corner. St Blazey continued to press but Withy never gave up and pulled to back late on. Nervous moments late on again as Withy chucked everything forward but with almost the last kick of the game Reski went through beat the last defender and his effort was well saved but went straight to the sub Hoyles to tapped in to end a really good second half of football.

Tavi at home on wednesday who won 1-0 at St Blazey last season and have just beat Parkway 1-0 so should be another hard match before next saturdays trip to Brizzzzle.

ST AUSTELL 2 - PORTHLEVEN 1

A very entertaining game for the supporters with both sides playing some great football. Port still missing some quality players & this didnt help their cause against a very good Saints side who dispite being outplayed for the first 15mins & going behind, stormed back to take a 2-1 h/t lead which could of been more had Richard Pennington not made some inpressive saves. The 2nd half saw Saints have a lot of possesion but a superb display by Ports defence meant that Pennington hardly had a save to make, & on the break, the away side always looked dangerous. Overall, the best team won on the day, so good luck to St Austell in the next round. :clapper:

Porthleven,s scorer was Dan Stidwell.

Mr Miller

I did watch the match...unlike you I had my head up most of the match...2 passes better than normal

It's courageous having a go at the team but not putting your real name up! Not that I would probably know it anyway! As for the side we all want to get back to winning ways tomorrow night! Now im off to cry myself to sleep after you have so cruelly singled me out for criticism! Maybe you can give me feedback in the bar after the game and I will buy you a nice bitter shandy!

Thank god for the inbetweeners or I would have been reaching for the Prozac! x
