StAustell 4 Cullompton 5!!

4-2 up with less than 10 mins to go having hit the woodwork 3 times and missed several chances St.Austell let in 3 late goals to throw this game away. Astonishing!! Keystone Kops defending and no excuses about injuries etc just a shambles at the back - that's ruined my first bloody saturday night out for months. :angry2:

ELBURTON 1 FALMOUTH 6

Falmouth 6 1 up at half time, missed a pen early on only to get another which was dispatched by Vercessi, he doubled soon after with a diving header from a great Kellow cross, Drummond scored 2 Eddy 1, and Green volleyed one in as well.

Second half was a bit quieter , but Falmouth had their chances to get more Goals....

Elburton didnt give up but were more physical second half.

great win for Falmouth, and all the players were there despite rumours on this site on Friday...

Great team effort and with Turner and Kellow back there appeared to be a better balance to the side.

Played some great football, on what was a nice pitch. :drink:

pastyman would you agree the game would have been better if the ref and his assistants where more switched on?

Myself and other supporters home and away thought the officals had apoor game.

Totally agree! To say that the officials were "picky", is an understatement. Never before, have I witnessed the referee award a second throw-in to the opposition, due to the original throw-in being taken from the wrong place! It happened again when a buckland player to a little too long to take a throw-in.

WAS THERE AN ASSESSOR AT THE GAME TODAY?

Bodmin 2 Buckland 2

Good match to watch for the neutral observer, despite the rotten weather.

I see Tom Kelly is now involved with Buckland!

Post Massey, I feel Buckland have got themselves together and playing more as a team.

Agree with you Pastyman, Buckland played with much more spirit, and a draw was a fair result at the end of the day.

Buckland started well and scored very early, with si Revell shooting home at the far post.

Bodmin equalised right on half time.

Buckland scored early again in the second half on 48 minutes where Liam Moseley fired home.

Bodmin got their second when willo was all over the bodmin forward, the linesman on the grandstand side flagged and the ref pointed to the spot.

The ball was fired high to the keepers right where wannell dived to the left.

A great save by James who pushed a shot onto the bar, kept the scores level. Buckland had a chance to win it with Booth through where he lobbed Miller but the ball ran wide.

The final chance to win the game fell to Bodmin, was where a forward put the ball wide when he was inside the 6 yard box.

Weather started as light drizzle but became more heavier during the second period.

Life goes on without S.M.Lynchy seems to have got the dressing room back, with players playing in their correct positions.and enjoying it.T K helping the gaffer out.

Godolphin 3 - 1 Dobwalls

A late first half goal from Kyle Brown changed Godolphin's fortunes in blustery conditions as Godolphin Way, having fallen behind to an early Dobwalls goal.

A crude challenge in the opening seconds of the game could easily have resulted in a booking and Godolphin made their intent clear, threatening from both wings early on. Both Aiden Martin and Lee Paxton may have done better when cutting inside to find themselves in presentable positions and Dobwalls looked out of sorts until a 14th minute free-kick struck the wall and a tame follow-up strike was deflected goalwards past a stranded Semmens in the Godolphin goal to open the scoring.

Godolphin's frustration was becoming apparent as Lowry hooked an effort over the bar, Scott Flanigan's free-kick curled wide and Paxton's powerful first time strike flashed agonisingly wide. Despite being under pressure, Dobwalls may have added a second when a whipped cross was flicked wide depsite a free header in the area. The match then became a tense affair when a late tackle from behind on Brown was adjudged to be a yellow card, much to Brown's discontent.

With five first half minutes remaining, Martin's knock down from a Mark Rose cross fell invitingly for Jamie Wigg who lashed his driven shot from the edge of the area over the crossbar and Semmens almost gifted Dobwalls a second after beating a defender and misplacing his clearance, which was fortunately cleared from danger after a lofted goalbound shot lacked power. As the first half drew to a conclusion, Brown also found his name in the book for a late challenge and Dobwalls looked like they'd done just enough to hold on to their lead.

However, Dobwalls wasted the dead ball opportunity and Phil Lowry broke at speed from left back. A driving run and quick pass found Mark Rose on the left, who turned his marker and clipped a delightful pass with the outside of his boot into the path of Brown who deftly lifted the ball over the onrushing goalkeeper to equalise in first-half stoppage time.

Games are won and lost as a result of the smallest margins and Dobwalls will feel aggrieved that their quick counter attack five minutes into the second half resulted in a goalbound strike deflecting marginally wide of the post with Semmens rooted to the spot. Just as Dobwalls sought to regain their advantage, Phil Lowry cut inside following an excellent team move and drove a low shot into the bottom corner of the net to give Godolphin the lead.

The goal appeared to deflate the away team and Godolphin looked eager to add to the scoreline; Lowry and Wigg combined with Lowry's shot clipping the crossbar and Josh Harris, who had replaced Paxton just moments before, expertly turned in a first time volley at the far post only to be thwarted by the assistant's flag. Dobwalls immediately lost possesion and Jamie Wigg, pivotal in a number of Godolphin attacks, released Lowry left of goal and his run to the byline resulted in a low shot that crept under the goalkeeper and Aiden Martin was on hand at the far post to bundle the ball home for a third goal.

With time running out late substitute David Rabone headed Rose's cross wide and Lowry also failed to threaten the Dobwalls goal with a powerful strike. With moments remaining, Godolphin had Semmens to thank for a late block when a consolation looked on the cards.

Godolphin looked like they were facing a very difficult second half until man of the match Kyle Brown's box to box run resulted in a crucial, match changing goal.

SWPL (West)

Holsworthy 0 - 4 Camelford

Camels scorers: Lewis Impleton, Kevin Murt, Dan Balsdon and Jordan Dunn.

Camelford still unbeaten this season - what's the secret?

This MUST be a trick question...... Its simple really..... You score as many if not more goals than the otherside...

Could this be used as the basis of football forecasting?

Don`t think there was, but oh how you wish sometimes ?

Seeing all the complications in the past few weeks I think Buckland put in a superb performance !! Well done lads :clapper: :clapper: :clapper:

Kane Bond looks to be an excellent signing, the ex Torquay pro came on as a sub and went off around 15 minutes later with what looked like to be a hamstring,Kane is lacking match fitness, but once he is back in shape will be causing a few defences a few nightmares.

Ivybridge on Tuesday night, who are going a storm and with this Buckland performance , looks like we are in for a treat.

BTW..

The two Wino`s at the back of the stand at Bodmin thought the Officials where dire too. Now that`s saying something :drink:

Yet another Saturday when Newquay will be without four players for the vital home match v Vospers Oak Villa, I hope someone at Mount Wise is looking to change the date of this game, we can't afford to drop more points if we want to win the SWPL.

Plymouth Parkway 2-0 Torpoint Athletic

Crowd 234 (Away 28 from Torpoint)

Scorers: Glynn Hobbs 87 and Ryan Richards 90.

We could not on hold against Parkway in this very defensive match and both keepers taking a knock. To be fair, both keepers had a very good game, but I would say Martin Piper made a cracking double save in the second half. Parkway to me, look like a team that will win the league, just piping Buckland at the last game. And for Torpoint, I would be very happy for a top four finish, but have yet played Bodmin and Falmouth.

We play Falmouth on Saturday at Bickland Park, and that should be a craking game.

On Tuesday we play Launceston at the 'The Mill' that will be no easy game either.

Come on the Gold & Blacks
