A surprise sub appearance by Carl Rickard for Newquay, a big say in the 2nd goal as his fierce shot was only parried and followed up by Robbo. Michael Rabone
Godolphin 5 - 1 Foxhole Godolphin made light work of visitors Foxhole with four goals in the opening thirty minutes. The warning signs were evident as Phil Lowry, Josh Harris and Scott Flanigan threatened the Foxhole goal early on before Kyle Brown waltzed through the Foxhole defence to slot home with eleven minutes on the clock. Foxhole took fifteen minutes to carve our their first opportunity and it was only a matter of time before Aiden Martin calmly collected a Mark Rose cross to volley home a deserved second. Tim Peacock was unfortunate not to add a third as his powerful header was cleared off the line; man of the match Josh Harris delivered the goods just a minute later as he collected an excellent through ball, cutting inside to put the game out of sight with a superb strike via the far post. Within five minutes Phil Lowry added a deserved fourth; Harris turned provider with a fine run and driven pass across the face of goal for Lowry to sidefoot home from six yards. Frustration amongst the Foxhole ranks was evident as the gulf between the sides became apparent; at times indiscipline looked likely to boil over, with Foxhole grabbing a surprise late consolation during a scrappy end to the half. Such a substantial half-time margin resulted in the second period proving to be nothing more than an anti-climax. Much of the second half entertainment was provided by the Foxhole striker who walked a very fine line and looked like a surefire bet not to complete the ninety minutes with a series of poor challenges and dissent. Jamie Wigg wrapped things up with a perfectly timed run, lifting the ball over the advancing goalkeeper to walk the ball into the empty net for a late fifth goal as the game drew to a conclusion.
