In Div 1 West

Hayle 1, Okehampton Argyle 1

Probably the right result after the visitors led at half-time through a goal from the penalty spot. Hayle levelled through Adam Freethy on 63 minutes after Rob Troon's header came back out off the cross bar with the keeper sprawling!

Camelford 6, Newquay 1

Reg Hambly's boys go marching on with an eye-catching result! Gusterson hat-trick and a shocking Newquay defence the story of the afternoon up in North Cornwall.

CAMELFORD 6-1 NEWQUAY

Dave said it all really!!! Newquay looked the better team first half hour but after Camelford equalized against the run of play there was only one winner. Lovely facilities up there now,was just a field when i played a friendly there bout 25 years ago! Nice to see some old friends. Not sure where Mark got his 40 plus Newquay fans from? i only counted 33 in the whole crowd!!! :o Nice bit of fresh air anyway after the Mrs dragged me to Wadebridge garden centre!! :c:

Falmouth come back against a spirited Liskeard side.

Falmouth took the lead with a Dan Green floated lob, but Liskeard fought back and leveled before halftime, and the score at half time was 1 -1 which was fair.

The second half started well for Liskeard who were always a threat up front, they scored on the break after a Falmouth corner broke for the home side. Then Falmouth started to work and the switch to 442 what was needed, and a scamble following a great cross from Green saw Falmouth go level, and centre half Jamie Diranne put Falmouth ahead, and a sending off for Liskeard for a second bookable offence made it harder for the home side. A fourth from Barwell made it 4. Home never gave in, they were unhappy with the ref, but he did well booked when he should tried to keep the game going, and had no option in the sending off.

Cant understand why LIskeard are not higher in the league they were far better than Ivybridge who Falmouth played last week.

Falmouth got out of jail this time. The stong wind didnt help but they have to thank Chapman in gaol again for the 3 points, one point blank save was amazing.

Keep going Falmouth ..... one win at a time , put the pressure on those above ..... you never know!!!!!

I see this lot as a mid-table side (go ahead, prove me wrong). Rather than playing football, they set out to stop you playing football. Strong in the first half, they tired a lot in the second (sending off didn't help), and the three points should have been there for the taking.

Will cause problems for a lot of sides, but the top 4 or 5 can expect to come away with a win.

Ivybridge 3v3 St Blazey.

After the week we have had it was good to see over 30 supporters make the trip over the bridge.

Pleasing to see Ivybridge have started their work on the new pitch and have laid a concrete base for the new stand and the hard standing is almost ready to be poured.

We found ourselves 2-0 down but a good run by Rundle found Reski to fired a low shot to make it 2-1. Before half time a corner was flicked on to be headed home for 3-1 and it looked along way back for St Blazey.

The second half started with a second yellow for the Ivy player who took out Rundle and with ten men we had hope. Minutes later we were given a very soft penalty which Cooper smashed home to give us hope. Mid way through the half a good cross was met by Cooper to make it 3-3. The win was there for us but the final ball and some good defending kept us out. Ivy could have won with a great shot that smashed off the post with minutes to go. St Blazey had the best chance of the match to win it with the last kick off the match but when played through, Vines shot was saved and the rebound was cleared off the line.

A good fight back after a poor week. Lets hope we can put a couple wins together with a couple home games coming up. :drink:

Camelford 6 - 1 Newquay

What a brilliant and deserved win for the Camels today! After going 1 - 0 down, they went in half time leading 3 - 1. Their second half display was superb

totally outplaying Newquay and there could have been even more goals. A good days work on a difficult pitch. Well done!

St. Austell (Cup) next week - GOOD LUCK BOYS!!

I thought Alan Carey was spot on with his Radio Cornwall summary giving Liskeard full credit with their wide attacking play albeit against a makeshift Town defence .(Kellow and Hollands injured)

It was no surprise that Liskeard levelled at half time with the backing wind in a half where Jason Chapman was the busier keeper making crucial saves.

Liskeard nosed in front midway in the second half and looked the likely winners before a controversial Town equaliser.

Two turning points of the match came with Chapman deflecting a certain score over the bar and soon after bringing on Tom Barwell to midfield in place of one of the three strikers (Liam Eddy being the unfortunate choice).

Falmouth bossed the remainder of the game although 10 man liskeard didn't help themselves with the dismisasal of Karl Curtis? for two late tackles and yellow cards.

Jamie Dirrane headed Town in front again from a corner for his first ever goal for the club and Tom Barwell powered home for his second strike in succesive games after going 50+games previously without.

Oh for a big strong commanding central defender so at the moment its up to the attacking flair to outscore opponents.

In 8 SWPL(P) matches between the two clubs Liskeard have yet to record a victory P8 D2 L6
