ontheball2010
Cullompton Rangers 1 Saltash United 0 FACT: Cullompton wanted to win this game more than Saltash. A very disappointing game for the "ashes", boy, do I wish i had stayed home. Unfortunately, what could have been a very strong squad this season, has turned out to deliver nothing but poor displays. Guest Rydon Ranger
Buckland 1 (Booth) Liskeard 0 Well impressed with Liskeard today, a hard working side who never gave up till the final whistle, If they can play like that week in week out then i think they will surprise a team or two before the season is out. Buckland looked fairly control of the game and on another day could have scored 3 or 4 but Liskeard did cause them a couple of scares late in the first half. A silly sending off when the Liskeard captain had a swing at a Buckland player which 'may' have cost his team a chance of getting something from the game. :clapper:

Having watched Saltash a few times this season they strike me as a collection of good footballers but not a good team. There doesn't appear to be any sort of game plan. A silly sending off when the Liskeard captain had a swing at a Buckland player which 'may' have cost his team a chance of getting something from the game. To be honest, I thought Buckland should have had this game put to bed before the half time whistle, with a hat full of, in front of goal chances, going begging. On any other day Bucklnad would have chalked up a big score and I just felt had these chance been put away, Liskeard heads would have dropped. They certainly did after Mike Booths goal and a sustained period of attack from Buckland followed. But that said, I agree that they where a very well organised and hard working side who seemed to control the mid field well, luckily for Buckland they rarely caused the back four any trouble, but being just the one down they always had something to chase, and hence why they where so energetic. The sending off was stupid and I dont think Darren Edwards would be a happy man with it, but thats football and sometimes tempers can flare. On a footnote, I thought that Tony Cloak managed the game superbly :clapper:

I am usually only able to attend home matches, due to work timetable, but this was one of the few matches I could. I cannot be the only "ashes" supporter who is "losing faith". I fully agree "ARGYLE FAN", there is no "game plan". What should be a very strong outfit, it is failing to deliver. The team today just didn't look interested, why?
