Well that was my game for the afternoon gone with the rain!

Must have been very heavy a few miles away?

Sat here in Brixham no rain since early hours and brilliant sunshine all morning! very surprised.

So, see if can win 50/50 draw at Saltash now instead!

Hope everyone has a great afternoon's football.

Mass

Totally agree with your point Steve..... I was in Dartmouth all day and there was no rain at all!!! Even had a look at the pitch from the outside and it didn't seem to be waterlogged in any areas. Be interested to hear when and why the decision was made to call it off because it baffled me completely. As for the mid week replay in May? I thought it was agreed that the fixtures secretary would use common sense regarding long midweek fixtures due to the geography of the new league??

St Austell 1-2 Witheridge

Withy Scorers Steve Ebdy and Richard Groom

Crowd around 80ish with 25 from Witheridge

Very even game with both sides missing early chances. St Austell took the lead midway through the first half only for Withy to equalise 4 minutes before half time. Exciting end to end football in the second half and have to admit the hosts had a stonewall penalty turned down by the referee who made the matter worse by then booking the St Austell player for diving. Both sides had chances cleared off the line and the game seemed to be heading for a draw before Witheridge's captain Richard Groom powered a header into the net from a corner in the 89th minute to send the Withy supporters into a frenzy.

So then 55 St Austell fans. Attendance at Blaise Park today was around 95. Take away the Cully fans and that leaves around 95.

One team in mid-Cornwall!!

North Devon Dweller - spot on I reckon with your report on the game at St.Austell. Thought the officials did well until the shocking penalty decision. However, thought your boys played well and always looked dangerous at set pieces. Also nice to see good travelling support from Witheridge also in the club after. Not sure about the attendance but I would guess fair few more than your estimate!

Camelford 2 Illogan 1

Gusterson pen

Pooley

Illogan pen?!

Camelford thoroughly deserved the victory today, would have been a more comfortable victory if the referee had not given a penalty to Illogan with 5 mins remaining which no Illogan player even appealed for.

i wouldnt say camelford throughly deserved it, they were pushed hard by illogan who created far more chances! was clearly a penalty for handball so i dont know what game you was watching, your penalty was more dodgy!!! great game to be part of and after playing dobwalls previously in the round id say they were a fair better side! but all credit to camelford the league tables dont lie! all the best for the season and good to see my old mate giles reynalds to!

i was the offender for the illogan penalty and i can honestly say that if my 'handball' was a correct decision you would see several per game, i didnt even see the ball as it was hit at me from about 3 yards, our penalty was stone wall as your defender didn't know gyles was there, went to kick the ball, but gyles got there first and your player kicked him, no arguments

i didnt think you had the better chances but football is all about opinions, 2nd half you had more of the play but that was always going to be likely with the wind and the slope in your favour, but i only remember you having a couple of shots and a few corners

great set up down at illogan, very impressive and the ground was easily good enough for them to move up to the peninsular league, which i believe they will in the near future, and the RBL club was very cheap and may go some way to explaining why my mate had to drive my car home!!

unbelievable decision from the referee yesterday which cost us the game, and people wonder why we get frustrated by referees & have no respect for them, to not give the penalty was bad enough but to book me was scandalous!

Bit presumptuous to say it cost the game as penalties are missed quite often but none the less you should of been given the spot kick to try to restore the lead and the booking was a joke.

I don't get your logic at all there Dave. Both clubs are in the top 5 for attendances and very few step six clubs around the country average over 100 so I would say we are doing OK.

It's a shame to think that attendances throughout the non-league football set-up are so low!

Yes, of course, but we are at the 10th level of English football! I would hazard a guess that in the 10th level of the French, German and Spanish pyramids, the crowds are similar if not lower.

I went and watched an evening game in the Menorcan Town of Alaior a few years back.

The match was played under floodlights and on a sand pitch, I would hazard a guess at the attendance being at least 1500.

Dont know what level this was? But the link below say they now play at level four Spanish league system.

Superb game watched with a bag of Cashew nuts ( No pastys here ! )
