Darin Morse
Foxhole 1 Truro 0 Saturday 2nd April 2011 Jordan Dingle's 50th minute goal secured ten-man Foxhole's second successive league victory to ease fears of a bottom three finish. Despite including first-teamer Andy Watkins, whose only moment of note when his toe-poke from Gribble's pass was cleared from the line by the excellent Adam Holland immediately preceded the forty-first minute dismissal for dissent of Tom Rescorl, the youthful visitors rarely seemed capable of piercing a dominant home rearguard. In a fast and furious first quarter hour, Rescorl twice went close, his dangerous cross flashing across goal before he turned Ward before firing in a drive from twenty-five yards which was saved by the diving Raven, whose legs soon denied Butler after the returning winger had skinned Conibear-Trathen. On thirty-two minutes Laughton fouled Butler, whose near post free kick was volleyed wide by the swivelling Trudgian as Foxhole searched for an opening, but, despite some clever play often involving Dingle and Kempthorne, there were to be no more clear cut opportunities prior to the half-time recess during which manager Mackellar talked his way into the book for querying Rescorl's red card. Watkins failed to reappear for the second half, and the news soon got even better for the Foxes when Spaul's surge down the right led to Dingle's deflected winner from the edge of the box. Although Ralph walked a tightrope following his caution for a foul on Cooke, and for all their increased possession, Truro simply did not have enough firepower to force an equaliser, Holland only being called into action once when Bragg's searing effort stung his fingers. Cooke, so impressive for Penryn against Foxhole last August, was a peripheral figure today, and blotted his copybook with a yellow card for a poor challenge on Butler, whose subsequent dead ball ballooned into the air off the wall only for Dingle to fail to appreciate the room he had and his shot flew wide. Foxhole (3-5-2): Ryan Holland; Adam Holland, Bradley Ralph, Matt May; Andrew Butler, CJ Bird (sub. Sam Kenny), Michael Kempthorne, Jordan Dingle, Ben Spaul; Adam Trudgian, Tom Rescorl. Truro (3-5-2): Steve Raven; Chris James, James Ward, Kieran Conibear-Trathen; Adam Toy, Scott Laughton (sub. Paris Waller), Codey Cooke, Lee Gribble (sub. Jack Bowyer), Mike Vanes; Andy Watkins (sub. Barry Leete), Josh Bragg. Referee: Mr Marc Oldaker (Launceston).
