Pitchside
Royal Marines 1 - 2 Saltash United The scoreline should really read 1 - 0 to Saltash but in injury time the ball got kicked out of play for an Ashes player to recieve treatment, however on the re-start Marc Thorne sportingly lofted the ball towards the home keeper only to see it go over him and into the top corner. From the kick off Saltash then allowed the Marines to score to cancel out Thornes freak goal. lee Carew was gutted as he lost his clean sheet after coming out of retirement to replace the injured Paul Hider. We had the same situation @ Bovey last weekend. Our striker Steve Ebdy looped the ball back to the keeper from a drop ball as well and that to ended up in the net. Just as Saltash did Withy let Bovey run straight through from the kick off and restore their lead. These things happen.

Nemesis
Both teams get an extra £2 each from the goal scoring fund! Now if you had two sides with Zilch to play for, they could in effect take turns in allowing the other to score and make a tidy sum from just one game. If only we had realised that before we went to Okehampton.
