Never easy losing to you nearest rivals. The G fully deserved the victory and will probably be a force again this season. As to significance .. let's see what the Nqy starting line-up is on Sat as hopefully this will be nearer the side that will start the league season. With the early games affected by suspensions and injury(s) and 4 games (3 away) in the first 10 days, Nqy need to hit the ground running. Anything less than 8 points will indicate a difficult season ahead maybe.

I'm sure the correct attacking combination will be sorted and a convincing win over Wadebr would provide a confidence boost. Could be a very interesting season in 1W.

Godolphin Atlantic 3 v 1 Newquay AFC

Can we read anything into this result for the season ahead? Wouldn't we have expected a Newquay win? ninja.gif

Definitely not Newquays strongest team fielded last night.

Always disappointing for the Peppermint fans to lose against Godolphin.

I'm guessing that Mr Hooper and his 'new' players are not yet aware of the extent of the rivalry between the towns two teams.

But then again it was only a friendly ;)

It says 'the towns two teams'. Newquays a town and Godolphin is in Newquay, which means Newquay FC and Godolphin FC are the towns two teams which Soccerfan rightly suggested.

I owe you an apology,

I went onto Google & found Godolphin Hotel Newquay, which I can assume is also an area within Newquay Town,

But I have to admit that I have never heard of Godolphin Newquay,

until now,

still one is never to old to learn.

Hammers :c::huh: :c:

Godolphin isn't an area within Newquay Town.

Godolphin is a PUB!

My arguement was that Godolphin is a team in Newquay.
