First half Torpoint were playing uphill and took a well deserved lead after a well worked team goal, with the ball coming in from the right, Sam Stevens was left unmarked in the center of the 6 yard box to head the ball into net. Most of Chards football was a long ball, hoping to catch the defence asleep. HT Chard 0 - 1 Torpoint Second half was a welcomed relief for Torpoint to be playing downhill, Chard were still playing the long ball game, but now the ball was holding up, but, not really causing many problems. Chard then had a good 10 -15 mins, which produced their goal. Poor marking saw the ball drop in the 6 yard box, intially the keeper saved with his legs, but somehow the ball come loose and the ball ended up in Torpoints goal from 2 yards out. Torpoint made a couple of changes, to shore up the midfield and add fire power to the front line, which paid dividends when Joe Truelove controlled the ball and then let loose from 25 yards out, which saw the ball fly over the keepers head and dip down into the net giving Torpoint the lead with 7 mins to go. With no other major scares Torpoint progress into the next round with a home tie against Bridgewater Town. FT Chard 1 - 2 Torpoint A travelling crowd of approx 60 gave the yellow and blacks a well deserved cheer from the pitch. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
