Karen & Mark
FA Vase Buckland Ath 5 Elmore 0 This promised to be an entertaining fast paced game as both teams are riding high in their respective leagues and we where not disappointed. Chris Vinnicombe has certainly transformed Elmore from the side they were last year and until today’s game Elmore had only lost once. Both teams seemed evenly matched but it was Buckland who looked liked they had the edge as the match progressed. Both teams were playing good flowing football, but for the second week running there were some rather bizarre decisions by the Ref ? The stalemate was broken on the half hour mark when good work from Buckland saw Dean Stevens put through a great low ball to Gary Fisher who thumped it home from 16 yards. With more and more strange decisions coming from the Ref and the game starting to get rather heated, the half time whistle came with some relief, only after seeing three yellows dished out and Bucks Manager Anthony Lynch demonstrating with the ref has they walked off also going into the book. Buckland came out at much more determined side in the second half , and after just two minutes a superb free kick by Dean Stevens was met by a centre half Cameron Kelly who headed the ball into the right hand corner of the net. Buckland now grew in confidence and were continually pressing and causing Elmore no end of trouble. On the 57th minute Buckland made their first change and Marc Revell came off and Liam Mosley on. Gary Fisher was put back into centre half position and Mozer went up front. On the 70th Minute we made another change and Cain Bond, newly signed from Stoke Gabriel came on for Cameron Kelly. With two now playing up front this seemed to put Elmore at Sixes and Sevens and on the 70th minute Liam Moseley was pulled, two armed, backwards in the penalty area , right in front of the ref who waved played on. But fortunately the Lino waved and after a brief discussion the penalty awarded . Dean Stevens lined up and thumped away an easy conversion. Elmore now seemed to capitulate and it was all Buckland , on the 80th minute, another new Buckland signing, former Torquay United Midfielder Scott Taylor came on for Si Revell. Scott was soon in the thick of things and rattled a superb 18 yarder against the post. On the 90th minute superb work from Liam Drew saw Cain Bond hit a hard low shot to the right of the Elmore keeper to make it four. Just a minute later Danny Lewis was one on one with the keeper and despite having his shirt tugged all the way saw his effort saved. However Danny made amends when in the final minute of stoppage time he hit a superb goal to make it five. Scott Taylor looks like he is going to be a very good signing, Cain Bond is lacking match fitness but also a great player and we should complete the signing of Chris Wright tomorrow. Witheridge Tuesday night in the league. MOM : Dean Stevens Falmouth Away next round.

Parkway looked a bit disjointed again , just as they have for several games . Had a couple of big let offs in the first half with Bovey hitting the bar and then missing a penalty . Glyn Hobbs goal was probably about the only memorable thing from a Parkway point of view . Too many players looked off the pace on Saturday , most notably Hobbs and Shane Krac . It is worrying that if those two are off colour , then the whole team is off colour . It does look to me like Chris Wright will be off . He has not looked happy all season , it has not helped that we have not really played to his strengths . If the Buckland rumours are true , then it will undoubtedly strengthen an already strong Buckland at our expense . It looks to me like we would need to bring in a new forward player to give us a more options after the departure of Andy Sargent ,and if Chris Wright goes , but I have no doubt that Gez and Wayne have a plan in place ( I would personally go for Sam Cooper of Liskeard for a bit of a physical presence upfront) . surferduck
No one is bigger than the club there are replacements out there to be had. most players would accept an offer to come to parkway so don't think we need to worry to much but agree that buckland getting wrighty could make things incredibly difficult for us to get to the top.he may even come back like he did at saltash we all make mistakes.
