Finished godolphin 1-1 truro. Scott palmer with a good header into the top corner from a cross on about 20 mins and ollie pinnell with a header from a corner 5 minutes later. G unlucky not to get a penalty in the second half when payne brought down paxton, only for the ref to give a corner? Even payne said he was expecting a card for himself, draw a fair result though. Frickin freezing lol

SALTASH UNITED 1 BUCKLAND ATHLETIC 5

Once again a total lack of consistency by a Referee, all too common these days.

The sending off of Dan Bennett(Saltash U Defender) for a foul and a subsequent penalty didn't help "the ashes" this afternoon. However, "the ashes" fought back to equalise to 1 - 1.

Cannot criticise "the ashes" for their effort this afternoon, but playing against a side with Bucklands quality with 10 men and a Referee who looked totally bemused, what chance did we have.

Did hear that Darren Hicks WILL be returning to Saltash United.

MOUSEHOLE 3 PERRANPORTH 1

Darrens side fully deserved all 3 points today as for 80 minutes they were the only team who wanted to win the game , we were absolutly awful by far our worst display this season, but that shouldn't take anything away from the seagulls. if we had lost 8 - 1 i wouldnt have complained we were that bad.

You know its not your day when your playing the bottom team on a freezing windy day, your 1-3 down and the opposition's 80 year old full back (Thats what darren said !!) mark trevail is overlapping like roberto carlos !!!

even though we have been struggling all season, i still have standards as a manager and today wasn't good enough so i with held their meagor expenses (with their agreement) and will donate it to a childrens charity.

Thanks once again to mousehole for their hospitality

Saltash 1 Buckland 5

I actually thought the referee had a decent game. The turning point obviously was the penalty & sending off. I had a very clear view (only 3 yards away) and in my opinion it was more of a tangle of legs. Not deliberate but i should imagine that the angle that the referee had, was not as clear as mine. Penalty given but does it have to be deliberate to be sent off ? Either way, with this passage of play happening so quickly, i am not surprised with the outcome. It would have taken a very confident referee to give the penalty but not a sending off. A 4th official behind the goal line would have been able to help the referee better than the linesman's view.

Having said all that, I do believe that Buckland would have gone on to win the match, with or without the lack of opposition players. They seem to be back in the groove. They can't afford to drop any points, so today was a fantastic result.

Once again the results thread seems to have become a slagging match.

Dartmouth 3-2 St Blazey

Crowd: 30 (15 from Blazey)

After a dreadful first half, St Blazey hit back with goals from Foster and Leete in the second period to set up a tense finale. Darts stole the valuable points right at the end.

i think a 6-1 scoreline and third place standing in the league with numerous games in hand havin only lost once all season probably suggests otherwise foz06!!

Got thumped in the cup by a team in a league below you though! Just goes to show what a poor standard the Swpl is these days.

John the baptist, he is going to say Vospers are not a good side Foz06 plays at the back for Parkway Res. They had their best result of the season against a Vospers team that were awful on the day.

Vospers were outclassed on the day, Parkway Res have played better teams in the ECPL.

Throgmorton Cup

Bodmin 2 Plymouth Parkway 1

Nearly, but not quite for Parkway . Undone by a Bodmin Town side that just seem to know how to win key matches .

Parkway started the brighter , but it was a case of almost but not quite , we looked brighter and sharper in the early stages with Dennis Mason, Glyn Hobbs, Shane Krac and Ben Joyce prominent, but moves always seemed to breakdown before efforts could be made at goal .

Bodmin slowly gained the ascendancy down the slope as the half went on,and scored via a wickedly deflected shot from about 10 yards out .Parkway did dig their own grave though by repeatedly failing to clear the ball from the area .

In a mirror image of the first half , Parkway came out strongest after the interval and had the majority of the play . This was eventually rewarded when Krac powered in a header from 6 yards off the underside of the bar . Parkway then turned up the pressure with Hobbs always looking a threat , but were unable to convert this into clear chances , this was except for Sam Stevens rounding the keeper and contriving to miss the target from inside the 6 yard box . Indeed , to the neutral observer , Bodmin looked like the away side at this stage .

Even after Dennis Mason being sent off for a two footed challenge(not disputing the dismissal , or in any way condoning Mason's reaction afterwards , but the way the player stayed down, and the Bodmin bench leaping up as one was probably unwarranted),the match went in this vein , but the feeling of the inevitable went through me as the game edged towards extra time and , sure enough , Bodmin began to fashion chances through the luxury of the extra player.Cuminating in a Bodmin player breaking free on the left hand side and cutting in to send a right footed shot beyond Martin Piper .

No complaints really with the result , we feel like a side at the minute that does not have a lot of goals in it . We got on top of todays match for long periods , but I cannot recall their keeper being tested on many occasions . We also continue to look like a side that has the potential for sendings off and bookings , this was summed up by the conversation I had with a Bodmin fan afterwards "you play good football , but you also play right on the edge with your tackling. " Sides like Bodmin who are always in the referees faces will exploit this .

One final note , the matchday magazine was probably the best of the season so far . Superb read for £1.00

RVP as i stated before Parkway res were the the better team on the DAY !!

Over the course of season I think a team is entitled to an off day, just like a team will have one of those days when everything comes off for them.

League tables do not lie and to judge a team on one game alone is a bit harsh.

Maybe it is harsh and i apologise for that, but I will stick by my comment, league tables do not lie but I remember my team being labelled a pub side that afternoon which i consider to be very harsh. Plus the best win for us this season so far in my opinion was sticker away or even yesterday versus tavvy. All the best to Vospers for the rest of the season.

Thank you for your compliments Santini. I feel we were worthy of the three points yesterday. I think we scored at important times which took the wind out of your sails a bit. If a couple of your chances had gone in just after half time then it may have been a different game. I believe your league position doesn't do you any justice and sure you will soon start moving up the table.

oh dear Foz. Looking at you posting time, perhaps the beer has gone to your head a little.ha ha. I presume your are referring to your victory over us in the Devon cup???? Undoubtedly you were the better team on the day and thoroughly deserved your victory. I have no qualms about that. On that day my team were very poor and put in the worst display i have seen at Vospers in my 3 years there. If you are going to judge us on one game, then that is very naive of you. Man Utd lost to Palace in the cup, does that make them a poor side?

Apart from this one result, i have been very pleased with how our season is going. One defeat in the league this season with a couple of games in hand on the teams above us. It would be great to really push the firm favourites Newquay for the league.

John the baptist, he is going to say Vospers are not a good side Foz06 plays at the back for Parkway Res. They had their best result of the season against a Vospers team that were awful on the day.

I think Santini and St Dennis would agree with me in saying that going from ECPL into SWPL West is a step up. I managed Saltash reserves in which we finished runners up and won the supplementary cup, beating Parkway Reserves 3-1 (yep Foz i had to drop that in!!!). The following season i took the whole squad to Vospers. I added some good players to that squad like Tony Bouch and Austen Beeney and only managed to finish 12th. I found there was a distinct gulf between the two leagues.

I don't know the ins and outs but if Parkway 1st team were to be promoted to the Western league, then i would welcome an application from their Reserves to join SWPL West. Dont know if that would be a possibility.

I wish Parkway all the best for the rest of the season.
