Mike Odgers
In what was a "back to the wall" second half for Falmouth with depletions in availabilty and numbers it was a big appreciation from the fans for the workrate and endeavour put in by the Black & Ambers. Buckland did almost everything to claim the points and were the better side over 90 minutes but in what could be the last visit by "The Bucks" to Bickland Park in view of promotion to the Western League they have always brought excitement to the games.. Team- Chapman-Winnan-O'Donnell-Menhenick-Rundle-Pope©-Devine-Lugg (McIntosh)-Hodges-Mudge-Magee(Nodwell) Unused subs-Turner-Way It has not been one of Bucklands successful venues having won only one League/Cup encounter in 6 visits but entertainment has predominated with 32 goals on show Falmouth v Buckland at Bickland-- P6 W3-D2-L1 GF 18--Ga

For those of us that didn't get to Bickland Mike, what was the answer to the question? Not a Cornishman-Nigel. It was Jimmy Coates who was a Petty Officer Physical Training Instuctor at Portsmouth Command He joined Falmouth 1958-59 when stationed at Culdrose and captained Kingstonian v Hendon in the 1960 F A Amateur cup final.
