Bodmin vs parkway

Recommended Posts

Finished 3-0 bodmin, krac with the second on 85 and carter with the last kick/head of the game. Could of been 5/6 really, bodmin dominating the whole game with not much coming from parkway. Bodmin hit the woodwork about 7 times, 3 times within the space of acouple of 2nd half mins! On another night parkway may not of finished with 11 men had it not been for a referee who had obviously left his cards at home!

Fair enough report . Parkway had a lot of the play , especially in opening 20 minutes of the second half , but didn't really create many chances . When Marc Bonney missed the chance to equalise with a free header from close in , it felt like that was the chance gone .Bodmin went up a gear or two after that and put the game to bed .

Probably the difference between Bodmin and the rest of the league ( execepting Buckland) is that they have the squad quality, know how and experience to be able to see matches through .Being able to bring a fifty goal striker off the bench for the last 15 minutes is a good illustration of this .

The referee did seem to be wanting to get away from the last match of the season without any paperwork to do . Was interesting that he booked Will Stringer for dissent , but didn't see anything wrong with some of the challenges flying in (from both sides). One or two players were probably lucky to see the game out .

He was also an interested observer when Wayne Hillson and Darren Gilbert had their heated debate .I would imagine that it was probably about the respective merits of the various parties attempting to form a coalition government in Greece .

Going 1-0 down early in the game seem to settle the side down. Bodmin are a class act and were as expected a constant threat. Keeping the score to 1 at half tme gave Parkway a platform to build on. 2nd half and despite Bodmin hitting the woodwork on several occasions you just felt that Parkway could pinch a goal as they grew more and more into the game.Unfortunately it wasnt to be and 2 goals in the last 7 minutes ( one the last kick of the game) finished off a spirited performance from Parkway. Losing Lee Doel before the game didnt help, and you just felt that if we had a fit Ryan Richards alongside Sam Cooper upfront things could have been different. The squad that finished the season can certainly hold their heads high for the effort that they put in. Congragulations to Bodmin a cut above the rest.
