Mike Odgers
Ottery St Mary FC have withdrawn from the Peninsula League (East) and have applied to join the Devon & Exeter League This means a Devon club will be transferring from Div1 West to div.1 East leaving the the two Leagues with 16 clubs taken from the CSWPL forum

Dave Deacon
Also from Phil Hiscox on the SWPL Forum..... "......I can confirm that we have found a club willing to transfer to East whilst a further club has declined and the remaining club have a meeting this week. Until we know the outcome from this third club we cannot confirm which club will be transfering, but clearly 1 club will be and therefore both divisions will run with 16 clubs. We hope to announce the name of the club transfering by the weekend. "
cornishteddyboy
Once again it looks like there will be no relegation from either Div 1 West or East at the end of next season as both divisions will be 2 short on their required numbers. The only way a club will leave is by promotion to the Premier Division or an intent to rejoin either the Combo or ECPL as Ottery St Mary have done in Devon. Will clubs think, no promotion, no need to pay out money to players? As the league is 2 short I would think a team in both of the Combo and/or ECPL will have a good chance of promotion for the 2013-14 season. The SWPL could take one from each of those divisions to fill up Div 1 West. So next season which Combo and/or ECPL team are going to grab the nettle and go for promotion. In the Combo perhaps Wendron, St Agnes or Illogan. Will Bude be in with a shout from the ECPL? Will Combo or ECPL teams be paying out money to win their respective leagues? Will Perranporth or Mousehole have another bad season and take the Ottery route meaning no promotion from the Trelawney at the end of next season? skippy
Plymstock/ Vospers? Holsworthy and Okehampton were keen to transfer East a couple of seasons ago, and Okehampton were granted a transfer being fatherest from Cornwall. Without doing the mileage calculations, I would have thought Holsworthy would have less travelling if they transferred compared with staying in the West. Argyle Fan
Possibly better roads from Holsworthy down into Cornwall rather than across to Torbay / South East Devon? Geographically Plymstock is furthest east so maybe they should get first refusal?

Mr unorthodox
Is there any difference other then geography in the East and West leagues?!
Braidie_Cole
Having played in both, The east league is much better due to a smaller amount of premier clubs in and around Exeter, so better players filter in the East Division, Just look at how east clubs have done in the cups in recent years compared to the west ! The Gooner
If anymore teams leave the league midweek evening games will be a thing of the past, otherwise the season will be finished by the end of March unless they through in another cup competition?
