Newquay AFC 2 v 0 Godolphin Atlantic

Shane Jewell with a stunning strike into the top left corner, and Luke Weldhen rounding the keeper to slot home gave The Peppermints a deserved 2-0 win. Fairly even first half, no goals and little to excite the crowd of around 200.

Second half saw Newquay dominate and gain the win that the majority inside Mount Wise Stadium craved. Newquay now unbeaten in 4 Pre-season games, things are looking bright and with players still to return from holidays, work and injuries, this is the best squad assembled at Newquay in many a year.

Nice to see Luke Rigby back at Mount Wise, shame about the colour of shirt. Godolphin and Helston will be battling it out for top spot in the West Div this year without doubt
