pastyman
As the post by Dave Deacon has been "locked", just wanted to make a comment. Very sad to see Kevin leave his position at Saltash United, as he, his wife Wendy and daughter Gemma have worked tirelessly for the club. Looking at the post, the club is now seeking new Chairman. Nemesis
Agree, pathetic. The footballing public of Saltash and the SWPL / ECPL have the right to discuss the issues of the day, the club are wrong to try and 'lock' the story down. Having said that, I hope they get a good person appointed soon, all clubs need someone at the top for overall leadership and stability.

secretscout
Luke will be next. Beaker i think you maybe right! I believe he had an approach from parkway not so long ago! Is he really that good?..Bodmin chasing him? You cant be serious! Ive seen him, well saltash a few times the last couple seasons and each time i havent been overly impressed. Which has me thinking was Daddy an influence in his step up to the first team a few years ago? Good luck to Saltash in their search.....maybe pastyman may fancy taking the helm at his beloved "Ashes"!

If you had read the early post by DD, it's due to personal reasons, why would he want the reasons discussed on here!!! The only postings on this should be to thank him and wish him he best of luck for the future.

Roll on Saturday
People use the forum as it is meant to be used - topical debate and opinion; There is also the opportunity to wind people up or stir things as people do in life - not just on forums ! Best wishes to Kev and massive appreciation for all the tireless and thankless (for most) work effort he has put into the club for many years. I agree with others and expect Luke will be making a transition soon and why not - so I suspect Parkway will tempt him. Duders calm down dont take it personally and to be fair you cant say that you have not debated yourself !
The Professor
Agree, pathetic. The footballing public of Saltash and the SWPL / ECPL have the right to discuss the issues of the day, the club are wrong to try and 'lock' the story down. Having said that, I hope they get a good person appointed soon, all clubs need someone at the top for overall leadership and stability. The reason we requested the official release to be locked was so that the usual handful of Trolls do not get their opportunity to associate themselves to a sensible post, as has happened to this post and was always going to happen on this forum as soon as somebody decided to start a new post about it. The keyboard warriors that post on here with their inflammatory comments, winding people up and trying to get a rise, so they can have a laugh over a beer with their mates are an embarrasment, but, unfortunately the path this "empowered" generation is taking and while people rise to it and not realise their folly in entertaining these nameless half wits, it will continue unabated. Anyone who has any respect for SUFC and the work done behind the scenes by the few, for the many, will have no doubt passed on their best wishes to the people involved and not need to be commenting on here. Over to you...the debating masses, or should I say - mass debaters, enjoy! I think that Stuart has made an excellent point here. This forum is fast becoming a joke. One only has to see the 'Martin Burgess quits' thread to see that most of the 100+ posts are made from people trying to wind others up. Its one of the main reasons why I tend to 'observe' rather than regularly 'post' on here. When this place is used as a repository of information on local football issues, or as an opportunity to stimulate sensible and reasoned debate, then it works quite well. Other than that, leave the idiotic comments for Facebook - seen as you all seem to know each other! Back on topic, I've got lots of respect for anybody who voluntarily gives up their time to enable lots of people to enjoy playing football. Well done for your efforts while in post Mr Doddridge. Naholliday
Big thanks to kev for all of his efforts with the club. People should respect the man and not berate. Whereas I agree that people have their own opinion and indeed a forum can be used to "stir up" as you would in person, at least in person you know who you are talking to. If people wanted to put their opinion across in a sensible and mature approach, as in normal life, they would use their own name instead of an alias.... The people who post honestly always have much more interesting things to say than those who live a second (sometimes more) life. Perhaps they feel people what not listen to them or what they say would have consequences if they were to post honestly? Who knows..... But it is a shame. ThePragmatist
Haha..... Yet another example of Mr Dudley taking himself and Saltash football club far far far to seriously!! ThePragmatist
Thanks Stuart, apology accepted. The only other snippet of advice ill give (I usually charge) is......... If you don't want people to post or have an opinion on a subject be it good or bad, your better off just not putting it on here. A nice message in the programme or even a bouquet of flowers would be a lovely gesture. Putting it on the here with a little "padlock" sign next to it just makes you as a club look a tad silly. I would also like to state publicly that I would never challenge a man with as many badges as you on the knowledge front. (You have been more decorated then my Xmas tree!!) What you have achieved in the game and the level you have played at speaks for itself. All the best for the season mate. pro
Sorry what has Dudley won as a manager? Apart from the poor Div 1 west division. Just a question and not a dig!!
The Windmill On The Shirt
Stuart Dudley took Torpoint to 4th in the league and the quarter finals of the FA Vase, more than any other club has done in FA Vase in the SWPL!
pro
I requested won? Has he managed a team with no budget? Point I'm making is all these "good managers so we say" always do well because of a big budget? You look at reg at camelford or derrick at godopohin that's what I call real good managers who are successful with no budget Again this is not a dig at anyone just a point or discussion
druth1966
So who are the managers working with no budget in the SWPL?
Crusty
I think that is the point that Mr Keily was making...!! Tho I have to disagree slightly, Stuart did an excellent job on a very very low budget at torpoint, although the majority of players are now on relatively high money. P&d mourhino
The simple fact of the matter is money success come hand in hand. Weather it's the premier league I.e man city, man utd or even peninsula football. Even in p&d footy. If u promise 2 but players boots & give em nice trackys u get the best players. Bodmin, parkway & saltash will b @ the top of the league @ the end of the season 4 a reason.

And I am sure there clubs like it I know someone that plays for Camelford very well and he doesn't get free anything so don't know where you get your info from. No big time Charlies just players that want to play at a reasonable level. As a previous post said the likes of Reg and Derrick are the real good managers, they get the best out of what they've got with a limited budget and sometimes beat the teams who presumably pay good expenses, ie Saltash 4 2 and 3 0, St Austell 3 0 Parkway 3 0, St Blazey 6 1. Man management maybe, as opposed to money.
