TheolderIgetthebetterIwas
Should have made the effort and went to the meeting yourself!! Steve Massey was one who did attend - he comments in his Mutterings Issue 7 now online Just read that. It did not say a lot, no detail as such so I'll have to find a Falmouth packet to see some more detail, if there is any ??? However, sleeping giant of Cornish football is certainly true, the biggest club in Cornwall in my opinion. Trouble is when you pay out the sort of money they have over the years then its going to bite at some stage. Brewery loans, bank loans, mortgages and remortgages has got to spell serious trouble. Servicing debt, wether an individual or business is draining, put that together with falling attendances and bar takings - you're in the doo doo I'm afraid. Previous encumbents have a lot to answer for. Solutions ?? thats a difficult one, winning helps to a point. Volunteers, if you can round any up you'll have done well. Increased activity in the clubhouse, thats the toughest of all. Horse race night, casino night, poker night, all have been done to death. Entertainment, far to expensive, not supported well enough and your making a loss. Cheaper beer, nope, the supermarkets have cornered that market. I could go on but you get the drift. Today there really is no solution to the problems all clubs face. Talk to your creditors, cut the best deal you can, reduce every conceivable overhead, the ones that cost you money with no return, and hold on for the ride. I do wish you all the best. Pubs and clubs closing everywhere with no prospect of attracting business. If no-one gives up information on any subject then all forums would be a waste of time. Falmouth have obviously put a gagging order out over the postings on this forum as they now do not post at all !!!! So fishing I will go. They did after all - advertise it on here - YES/NO. I have merely asked the question, what happened at the meeting ???? Hope thats good enough for you.

So fishing I will go. There's no gagging order. Most Town supporters are just ignoring the ill-informed drivel that your attention seeking trolling consists of, that's all. RobbieS
I don't think the current owners of Falmouth Town have been anything other than perfectly open & honest regarding the goings on at the club. Nobody has been gagged that I know of. We are in a period of change, it's not rocket science. Budget cuts equals exodus of players, and that happens at all levels, not just CSWPL. As I've mentioned on another thread this comes down to loyalty, decency & honesty. If players can't afford to take the cut, then fine just say & move on. There are a few who have shown their loyalty to the club, and I can't praise them enough. In times like this you get to see who the genuine people of this world really are. I don't think the crisis that people are talking about is as bad as some seem to want to portray. There are some sensible people at the helm now, who are merely making sure that there is a future for the club. Some people seem to take a great delight in kicking the club when it's down. Well guys make the most of it, because this great old club will pull itself out of this situation, and I know everyone there is as determined as Les & myself to make it happen. We knew that it would be hard at first, so we're not surprised at all, we are where we are, but we won't stay where we are for too long. And we'll chip away at it for however long it takes!!
