MOUNTAINEER Posted August 10, 2013 Report Share Posted August 10, 2013 Most lkely "Last Man Syndrome" which is harsh on keepers. In rugby they have penalty tries perhaps football should have penalty goals in such situations, losing a player in such circumstances is IMO too harsh and ruins the game for almost everyone, most of all the spectators. green&whitebarmyarmy Posted August 10, 2013 Report Share Posted August 10, 2013 I agree, i have always thought it harsh that a goalkeeper can be sent off making a legitimate attempt at getting the ball with no malice whatsoever. when you consider that a player can make four or five fouls and not get booked (occasionally) it does seem particularly harsh. I feel the penalty and a booking is more thn enough punishment. Not slating the referee in any way as i'm sure he is just following the laws.
