Foxhole 1 Dobwalls 3

Dobwalls deserved the points, proving too strong for a home team who didn't help their cause with some puzzling team selections. The visitors' attack, led by the burly Knight and regularly supported early on by the dangerous Bartlett, capitalised fully on the absence from the Foxes' rearguard of their two best defenders: Rosevear being chosen to partner Higman in an unorthodox striking partnership that rarely looked like working, and Stone inexplicably relegated to the bench until the 85th minute when he, too, was asked to lead the line. Hake opened the scoring on 19 minutes, when, from a Foxhole corner, the striker raced on to a long ball to slot home. Within seconds he had hobbled off but it did not unduly affect Dobwalls, whose central midfield duo Eke and Lawrence continued to boss the play, despite the best efforts of Couch, whose battling performance was light years ahead of any of the other Foxes. However, ten minutes before the break Higman charged down Corbin's clearance before firing past Coles to equalise and offer just the sort of temporary hope the home faithful have got used to seeing rapidly evaporate before them.

While the effort and application of the young Foxes was never in doubt, frustratingly they seldom appeared to possess the guile required to force victory, particularly once Libby's fierce drive had restored the visitors' lead on the hour and Bartlett had withdrawn into a deeper role. Duffy was again unable to replicate his pre-season form, although there was still sufficient evidence of his talent to suggest his time will undoubtedly come, while the more aggressive approach shown by his team-mates at least restricted Dobwalls from threatening to add to their tally until three minutes from time when Knight rounded Hadrill before selflessly squaring for Lawrence to tap in. Like Annear last Saturday, Coles was chronically under-employed, although he was relieved to see an effort by Higman, at last escaping the clutches of Hill, clear the bar. At the death substitute Giles crashed a shot against the woodwork from 25 yards to keep the scoreline respectable.

Foxhole (4-4-2): Carl Hadrill; Alex Morecroft (sub. Richard Faircloth), Scott Laughton, Adam Peters, James Avery; Dan Vincent (sub. Ryan Wilkins), Martin Duff, Seth Couch, Zac Smith-Brokenshire (sub. Joe Stone); Josh Higman, Adam Rosevear. Unused: Keegan Lloyd, Aiden Killen, Mark Williams.

Dobwalls (4-4-2); Tom Coles; Matt Foster, Simon Libby, Shaun Corbin, Adam Hill (sub. Lee Collins); Jack Bartlett, Nick Cotton, Joe Eke, Dan Lawrence; Joe Knight, Martyn Hake (sub. Andy Giles).

Referee: Mr Lee Mitchell (Falmouth).

A very accurate report Darin,Your youngsters have plenty of pace and enthusiasm but just lack a bit of composure which they will surely gain with experience. I think you will cause problems for a few teams this season.

How did parkway do and who scored

Bovey 0 Parkway 1 ( Danny Lewis) (HT 0-0)

Bit of a copy of the Blazey and Saltash games . Parkway started very brightly and looked very good ,but didn't take their chances during this spell , and a very hardworking and committed Bovey side came right back into it as the half went on . The deadlock was finally broken when Danny Lewis glanced in a header early in the first half ,chances then came and went for both sides in a very physical , and at times , bad tempered second half . Parkway were hanging on a bit at the end and were relieved when the final whistle went .

First big test of the season will come against an Exmouth side on Saturday who have also started with a 100% record in the league .

Fair assessment MR.German. A draw would have been a fair result.

Your above post seems to be in a different mood to the pump that was coming from your technical area on Tuesday evening which I found to be totally unacceptable and childish ? :SM_carton:

Your good wishes for the rest of the season is perhaps your appology ?

Bovey line up- Brooks, Clark, Walters, D Taylor, Head, Pascoe, Lewington, Plackett, Dicken, Bowker, Kelly Subs used Kennard, Stanbridge.

Didn't know all of parkway line up but contained these players- Elphick, M Landricombe, Stringer, Heveran, Bass, Bailey, Colwell, Richards, Lewis,LLandricombe. Can't remember other 1!! Carter came on for Richards.

Think Bovey deserved at least a point imo. But that's how you can win titles with 1-0 away wins like Parkway gained. Always a good game with them.

Marc Bonney was the name you're missing .

Sam Hillson on for Danny Lewis and Darren Hicks for Levi Landricombe were the other substitutes .
