Yes Home Waters, you are absolutely correct, there will be presentations by the SWPL and as soon as I receive the details I will amend this thread. RobinVanParkway
The FA will be presenting the South West Premier League with its well deserved FA Chartered Standard Award during the interval of Parkway V Torpoint, at Bolitho Park this coming Friday 11th October . The following is the official explanation from Phil Hiscox, Secretary of the SWPL. Clubs have been able to become "charter standard" for sometime, originally it was focused by the FA on youth football as a way of showing clubs had proper management and systems to run properly. An "adult" award for clubs was introduced which clubs had to demonstrate that they have: Proper constitution, committee structure, accounts and membership Codes of conduct for members, playing and off the pitch Qualified personal esp coaches and first aiders The league award is made because the league has demonstrated it too is run and adminstered correctly, has a plan for development and a commitment to improve and monitor the competition. It also had to ensure at least 60% of member clubs had achieved the club award Recently we have been busy helping and persuading member clubs to sign up by offering a partial refund of annual subscription to clubs with the award and paying for free aid training in both counties to help clubs achieve that part. We are looking closer to 70% or 75% of clubs now brought on board and we have other help lined up for those not with the award and penalties in mind for those that may need a "push" The league development plan has been written and accepted by the FA and it is only right that we thank the development officers of Devon - Chris French and Cornwall - Phil Cardew. The presentation on Friday is from the FA to the league to mark it now officially being an "adult charter standard league".

Top Dogs
Cant see Torpoint stopping Parkway making it nine in a row tonight!
Lafs
So will Carter appear for Parkway and will Brook not appear for Torpoint tonight?
pastyman
It is pretty evident that some players show little or no loyalty to a club. The offer of another "few quid", they "jump ship". So for season 2013-14, who has made the most moves? I would guess it has to be Adam Carter who tops the league table there.
predator
Elburton have put 7 days in for Jack Alexander another player from Torpoint !
Ian Pethick
Parkway 2 ( Adam Carter 2 ) Torpoint 0 ( ht 0-0) Parkway made it nine wins in nine league games , and ( temporarily at least) move to second place in the table .Decent high tempo game of football between a couple of teams that were pretty well matched on the night . Parkway were not at their recent best with several players looking a bit subdued , but Torpoint worked hard , looked well organised and, in Danny Brook and Ellis Cowd , had a couple of players who caused problems for Parkway . Danny Brook in particular showed what a classy player he can be when he drifted into the gap between defence and midfield , but also exposed his darker side with one or two questionable challenges as well getting involved in some off the ball incidents . Brook should probably have scored with a free header from six yards that he directed straight at the keeper , while Gavin Coulton headed against the crossbar and Steve Colwell shot high and wide when well placed in a game of few clear cut openings . Just when the game had a goalless look about it , Adam Carter got his head on a Paul Heveran free kick ,and then slottied home when through on the keeper in the dying minutes to condemn Torpoint to an undeserved defeat . Parkway did what good teams do , they played below themselves and got a result .

THE BALD ONE
Great result last night against tough opposition. Agree with Way of The Park's assessment. End to end football with both teams missing some good chances.Looking forward to Liskeard on Tuesday.Keep it going lads , its great to watch. My man of the match was Luke Rundle.
