Parkway 6 ( Heveran,Coulton,Richards,Lewis,Levi Landricombe 2) Falmouth Town 2 ( Wearne,Evans) (HT 2-1)

It was eventually a comfortable Parkway win against a hard working Falmouth side .The first half was a pretty poor affair in a strong wind ,and a good game for the Bald One to choose for an afternoon away with Mrs Bald One, with Town going ahead early on through Rob Wearne , and then Paul Heveran equalising soon after . Parkway were a bit fortunate to go for the half time oranges 2-1 up when Gavin Coulton headed in Paul Heveran's cross . Parkway were in much more positive frame of mind after the restart , and quickly went 4-1 up through Ryan Richards and Danny Lewis , before substitute Levi Landricombe made it 5-1 when his first touch of the ball was a fine volleyed goal after a brilliant passing move across the full width of the pitch involving several players . Parkway seemed to switch off and lost their rhythm as the rain came pouring down , and Falmouth created several opportunities with Harry Evans heading one of these home to make it 5-2 . They got caught on the break though when Levi raced away to make it 6-2 in the dying seconds of the match .

It was great to meet Mike Odgers today, and put a face to the name . Good luck for the rest of the season to Falmouth Town ,I think you will be OK in the league this season .You look too good to go down to me

Leedsunited, Blazey were at full strength. Coombes broke the deadlock with a header and Swain got 2 cracking goals himself, but this just proved two players doesn't make a team. Saltash proved they are a strong side with good players in every position like Cusack, Carey and Farrant. It was an even game for the first half but some of the Blazey players seemed to give up and most of the defending was worse than what you'd see in a poor sunday league team.

It was good to make contact Ian,I now have another club to talk to for news and stats which will make it easier in compling programme notes.

I dont go to many away fixtures but with all the new facilities at Bolitho Park and the possibilty of progressing to Western League I pencilled in this date as I had not visited since the changes.

I must say the complex (Changing rooms/Tea bar/Toilets/Clubhouse) was ideally set up and on a good sunny/warm day would make for a popular pre match meeting area.

Having a tea before the match I was amused by the light hearted banter between the Plymouth folk in this area.

Unfortunately the weather turned very nasty for the second half and I watched from the comfort of the clubhouse.

Everyone was friendly and helpful to me but sorry not to meet "The Bald One" who I had on my list.

I enjoyed the half time refreshments so much I missed the early second half goal which in effect won the game.

Watching the first half from the sidelines it was a fair effort from lowly Falmouth but it was evident that the quality of the 'name' Parkway players would come good and as I predicted would find it easier against the second half gale.

Pleased that Falmouth created a number of goalscoring chances but the second half goals did seem a bit easy.

btw I counted 12 people supporting Falmouth not including Mr.Westgarth's grandchildren lol

Yeah it's not been ideal, but full credit to the 2nd team manager (Dean Cardew) who has backed me massively, leaving him with issues of his own. And to the lads that have came in. They have been superb & have given really good accounts of themselfs & do not look out of place at all. It's really refreshing seeing the youngsters coming in & showing a really desire to play for the club & there's a real willingness to learn. I obviously hope I get the lads back sooner than our fixture in the senior cup ha. And look forward to the game against the club where I started in the old South Western League. Under Roger Wakeham

Hi Mike , That was the first game I have missed this season. I will make sure that I introduce myself on the away fixture next season if we are in the same league. Great feedback above. Parkway have come a long way.
