Referee Posted January 18, 2014 Report Share Posted January 18, 2014 I was called this morning to do the pitch inspection for Launceston v St Dennis , County Senior Cup. Far too much water on the pitch and the goal areas were very muddy. With 4 hours more of rain still to come before kick off they would not have had an opportunity to pitchfork out the ground and drain off the excess water. The touch lines were submerged by the dugouts and you had to swim to get to the field from the changing areas. Player safety has to come first, the quality of football would have been little more than a wet mudfest. This match is currently being rescheduled. My game at Dobwalls, Senior cup, was called off so we will all have to wait another week to see how the Senior Cup develops..... Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
