Exmouth 3v2 St Blazey.

Shocking pitch made it an awful first half. Exmouth 1 up. Blazey came out and went 2v1 up. Some great football. Back came Exmouth. Bit of luck with the equaliser as the keeper pushed a great strike onto the bar and it came down on the line. Goal given. Then 3v2 Exmouth before a Dan Evans header almost made it level and Coombes great strike hit the bar and bounced down but not over the line with their keeper well beaten.

First visit to Exmouth for about ten years since we played there in a friendly and then drew there in the F.A cup. The place hasnt changed one bit.

Looking at their average crowd of 90 you have to wonder if thats accurate. If there was 40 there today i would be ssurprised. 12 of them from St Blazey.

Camelford 0 - Ivybridge 6

Inside 27 minutes Ivybridge were 5 nil up. Camelford I'm informed were three regulars short, however, they looked off the pace and lacked the fitness levels of their opponents. They chased the game and were guilty of ball watching. Ivybridge looked the part and were more than up for it.

The second half was very different. Perhaps Ivy took their foot off the pedal, but, not to take anything away from Camelford, they played with more sense of purpose and caused the Ivy defence a few problems throughout the second period. However, Ivybridge were never going to lose and their persistence paid off with a sixth goal near the end. All in all these were easy points for Ivybridge - well done to them. Going to be a very interesting end to the season at the top of the table.

Good job Ivybridge didn't mention having 5 first team players not available, they just get on with who's available !!! May have been easy points after the game, considering that Camleford beat them the last time they met.

Is Andrew Neal the Peninsula League Player Of The Season ( if such a title exists )?

ps Parkway had four regulars missing today .

Not quite sure what point you're making here sir ? Just pointing out that all teams have players missing but don't make a point of hi lighting it, they just go with what they got. There's no easy points before the game starts, only appears that way at the final whistle. As I stated Camleford beat them earlier in the season.

No one was highlighting anything chum. As a supporter of Launceston looking for a match to watch yesterday, the Clarets playing on Tuesday evening, I went to watch this game at Camelford. Upon engaging a local in conversation before kick off, I was told that he feared that the Camels would struggle because they were short of regular players through injuries. In taking this into consideration I gave my appraisal of the match. I was aware that Ivybridge did have regular players injured as well, having overheard their supporters chatting. :) But, you chose NOT to mention the fact that BOTH teams had players out!! From sir to chum...... :)

Good luck to Launceston for the remainder of the season.

Falmouth deserved their win, could have been a couple more goals. Newquay didn't seem to have a second option all game, to many players wanting to look pretty rather than doing the basics. Newquay do have experience in the squad with Drummond-squires-wheldon-hampshire and now arscott has moved back to the club. The youngsters need to listen to their advice!!

Daft as it seems this was a game of two halves Camelford were awful in the first half and gifted Ivybridge with 4 of the 5 goals, the defending was shocking but the midfield was even worse giving the ball away time after time when under no pressure and not creating a thing for the forwards. Second half was different which Camelford just edged but with a combination of bad finishing and great goalkeeping they were never going to score Ivybridge scored a great first and last goal and deserved the win but 6 0 was very flattering. They are an OK team and the table don't lie but if they finish in the top 2 I will go to Siberia for my summer holiday. The comments are purely my personal opinion and I am in no way involved with Camelford FC.
