Ivybridge 0 - 5 Witheridge

Not a day that Ivybridge will want to remember and not one many will have predicted the score.

Ivybridge dominated the first 6-7 mins, Witheridge then got out of their own half for the first time in the game and won a corner, which they scored from a header at the far post. Regardless of who won the first ball, Witheridge picked up second ball which they used to their advantage, scoring another 2 goals before half time.

HT 0 - 3

The second half could not have started any worse for Ivybridge as the 4th goal went in with less an a min gone after the restart. The long balls had caused problems for the Ivybridge defence all afternoon. This is the one game that the defence will want to put in the back pocket and forget about.

Ivybridge just couldn't break down the visitors defence and then conceded the 5th goal of the game.

Witheridge on the day were worthy of the score line.

FT 0 - 5

Crowd of about 60.

A very even first half saw Parkway go into the break with a one nil lead through a good move and slotted home by Lance Bailey.Carter had two goals disallowed for off side where it looked like one was and the other was not. Parkway were the stronger side second half and their captain Stringer was taken to hospital for a bad head injury. Hope all is well Strings. Launceston went down to 10 men when the keeper brought down Rundle in the area. The penalty was put in the corner of the net just beating the sub keeper by Levi Landricome.

It was one way traffic after that.launceston kept going , then had another man sent off for a proffesional foul. As keith b stated it was not that sort of game that would see red cards.

A well earned clean sheet for the Parkway defense and 3 points in the bag. I had 2 men of the match today , both wide men Luke Rundle and Paul Heveren.

Well played lads.

Blazey 0 - 1 Exmouth.

In truth losing 0 - 1 flattered Blazey. We never looked like getting into the game, Exmouth controlled the match throughout but didn't create many good goalscoring chances.

Exmouth dominated possession and won a penalty midway through the first half, but wasted the spot kick with a tame shot far too close to Painter in the Blazey goal.

The goal came from a direct free kick early in the second half, looked like a good hit from my position behind the (quiet) Exmouth goal. Exmouth didn't create too many good chances but one goal was enough, as Blazey struggled to string together more than a few passes and only had one shot on target (from about 25 yards) that I can recall.

The only other talking point was the ref making a complete lash up and dismissing Tornado for two bookable offences, despite the first of them seemingly having been awarded earlier on to Nelson. It really was Andre Marriner stuff and embarrassing for the officials. Hopefully it will be put right in due course.

Having watched the Saltash wins V Ivybridge and Tavistock. The way the teams were dropping points at the top, I thought here comes a outside late challenge . But yesterdays loss has put paid to that. Ivybridge unfortunately have had players unavailable at the critical time of the season. After watching Parkways win yesterday and other results it has certainly put them back in the driving seat. Dare to say between them and Exmouth now, but who knows after the crazy results of a few weeks back. Exciting run in.

Penzance scorers:

Callum George

Jamie Payne x2

Excellent result, and a clean sheet for the first time this season.

Having said that, after seeing Penzance hit both posts and the crossbar in the first half and then hit the post again in the second, I'm starting to wonder if we're trying to set up some kind of world record for finding the woodwork. We seem to be doing it rather a lot just lately!

:D
