Nemesis
Taylor Woodrow are the current shirt sponsors. Such a shame, still the only 'proper' football ground in Cornwall.
Halfback
Such a great shame for Falmouth Town , a lot of club history came from Bickland Park
Bruegel the Elder
How mawkish, reading the heading I thought someone had died. It's people who make football, great players and outstanding characters, not a patch of real estate, be it dust bowl or mud bath. We celebrate human endeavour not a transient patch of grass. Sad day? How sad!
Cornish Hoop
Sad for me and probably hundreds if not thousands of others who played and or watched there over the years ! How sad ? Just sad that's all !
TheolderIgetthebetterIwas
Interesting that closing bids were on 28th February and still no movement announced. Sold or not sold???? my monies on not sold , coupled with problems on the proposed move I suspect, always problems when a third party's involved...especially government bodies. Get there in the end no doubt, but up and running in two years - nah! Only proper ground in Cornwall !!!! A hole in the ground, good viewing, but that's it. Newquays is pretty good as grounds go imo. BIG AL
2.4 million is NOT a lot of money if out of this one has to buy a new ground and build all the infrastructure. I do hope that very serious thought has been given to all this.
Nemesis
Having checked my photos of the match, the Falmouth Town shirt sponsor is Taylor Wimpey & not Woodrow. Bickland Park is still the only football ground in Cornwall with cover on all 4 sides (just) and has the look of a traditional old Football Ground. No doubt it will be replaced by the new portable stands that now infest grounds up and down the country. Practical yes, but ugly as sin and a sign that grounds can now be picked up and moved to a new location at the drop of a hat.
Ian Pethick
Hopefully any money that the club does make on this will not burned through in a few years on average players demanding extortionate "expenses." I too will be sad to see Bickland Park go. A real football ground with lots of history.
SouthernComfort
I for one am glad it's up for sale, it's too far too travel for an easy win!
