RobinVanParkway
SATURDAY 31ST OCTOBERFA VASE 1ST ROUND PROPERPLYMOUTH PARKWAY FCV BLACKFIELD AND LANGLEYPOSTPONEDAfter a pitch inspection this lunchtime, and under the instruction of the FA and the match day official, Bolitho Park was deemed unplayable and this tie has subsequently been postponed. Blackfield & Langley were due to travel down from Southampton this evening, hence a decision on the condition of the pitch had to made earlier to ensure we could prevent any wasted travel and inconvenience to the club. This FA Vase game is now scheduled for Saturday 7th November 15:00 Bolitho Park. leedsunited
Going well in their league, should be an interesting encounter. Wessex Premier always has been a strong league with some tough, physical & footballing sides.

BIG AL
I agree Leeds...pity its offI CANNOT BELIEVE IT THEY ARE ONLY TAVELLING FROM SOUTHAMPTON AND COULD EASILY HAVE LEFT EARLY IN THE MORNING. TALK ABOUT MILKING THE SYSTEM, WANTING AN OVERNIGHT STAY!

BIG AL
Big Al , you are such a moaning foolPerhaps I am but it is the truth. Calling a game off early on a Friday morning because IT MIGHT RAIN ON SATURDAY AFTERNOON, and a side that cannot travel from Southampton to Plymouth by 3pm or even midday, makes a mockery of the system
panda
I actually agree with Big Al for once. Southampton to Plymouth three and a half hours easily. What next. Penzance having an overnight stay if they play Cullompton ???
leedsunited
I think its more of a case of Parkway protecting their financial interests & not having to pay costs on the slim chance it might of been waterlogged. With parkway being off it might well increase the gates of other clubs in the vicinity today.
Mike Odgers
Did the big match at Home Park today come into the equation? There doesn't seem to be any other pitch concerns in the South West today
Tony
It does seem pretty over the top and unnecessary to plan an overnight stay when travelling from Southampton to Plymouth for a 3pm ko.Surely an early morning inspection would have suffice...as St.Austell waited on last season before the fixture at Folland if I recall correctly, easily an hour extra travel than B&L would have had today.
