First the bad news!

Launceston are unable to get the crane into Pennygillam to repair the storm damaged floodlight pylon before next Tuesdays scheduled Home game with Plymouth Parkway (8th March)

Now the Good news!

The two teams have not yet played each other so far this season and Parkway have agreed to reverse the fixture.

This means:

Tuesday 8th March its now – Plymouth Parkway v Launceston (Was 2nd April)

Saturday 2nd April – its now Launceston v Plymouth Parkway (Was 8th March)

Regards

The following report was kindly written by one of our loyal supporters.......

FT: Plymouth Parkway 0 Launceston 0

A rare 0 0 at this level but with Launceston having drawn more games than anyone else in the league, the result should come as no surprise. Parkway lined up 4 5 1 again and struggled to get any momentum with Launceston sharper in midfield, strong at the back and looking the more threatening for most of the first half. Both defences remained on top with few clear chances being created with neither keeper having any saves of note to make.

An injury to Parkway's Jamie Bass saw him replaced by Paul Heveran on 30 mins. Launceston continued to dominate midfield possession with Parkway unable to get forward to support thier lone striker. Too many long balls were ably dealt with by the Launceston defence as the game meandered to the end of the half. Parkway started the second half at a better tempo and caused a few early problems but Launceston defended well and gradually got back into it as the game continued to be a midfield battle.

Numerous free kicks given away by both sides resulted in play becoming scrappy and fragmented. Still no clear chances with both keepers being virtual spectators. Parkway introduced the available Levi Landricombe from the bench on the hour and changed to 4 4 2. As both sides tired on the heavy pitch, play became more open but both sides final ball invariably let them down and defences remained on top.

Launceston broke away on 75 mins and a superbly timed recovering tackle by Mark Berry almost certainly saved his side a goal. A Launceston free kick on 80 mins saw a fine save low to his right by Martin Piper, arguably their first effort on target. On 88 mins Levi Landricombe spun in the box and smashed a shot against the angle which rebounded to safety, arguably Parkway's only real chance of the game. Parkway piled on the pressure for the last few minutes but were unable to penetrate a resolute Launceston defence and the game predictably ended in a draw which was about the right outcome of a rather dour, some may say dire game. Lots of effort and commitment from both sides but lack of any real quality. Other results on the night mean Parkway climb one place to 7th.

Next opposition at Stadio Bolitho this Saturday are close neighbours from across the Tamar, Saltash United. The usual tough game beckons.
