Exmouth 0v4 St Blazey.

Just got home after an enjoyable 170 mile round trip. Exmouth has never been a happy hunting ground for St Blazey. This year the pitch looked better as last year it had dryed out and every ball just bobbled around. Today St Blazey went right at Exmouth and they couldn't cope with us. Tornado was at the heart of things after turning down a 7 day approach. His great run and first time ball across the box left O'hagan to bag his first for St Blazey. His second wasn't long in coming as Simms knocked a loose ball straight back in and O'hagon beat the defender and keeper to squeeze the ball home. St Blazey could have been out of site by half time with good efforts from Tornado and Simms with the Exmouth keeper making a couple good saves. Painter in the Blazey goal looked in good form making a couple late saves in the first half and catching well.

H.T. Exmouth 0v2 St Blazey

The second half was really scrappy for the first 25 minutes. Exmouth improved but only threatened from long range. Once St Blazey got the ball down on the break they found Tornado who turned their right back inside out and his cross found its way to the edge of the area to be fired home by Casley. A really good finish. O'hagon almost had his third but fired across goal before he did complete his hat trick with a good header from 6 yards out to make it 0v4. A huge 3 points. Now Tuesdays tricky trip to Tavistock is a chance to relax and you just never no.

10 points from 12 and we're back in with a real shout of staying up.

Next Saturday we play Newquay at home. The bottom 6 have their own mini league to survive in.

The first half between Newquay and Camleford was pretty even with Newquay just edging it having the better of the chances however both teams were guilty of giving the ball away far too easily. 2nd half the home side started well almost going ahead with a fierce volley tipped around the post by the keeper. Midway through the half Camleford's left back was shown a 2nd yellow after bringing down Annear, Newquay capitalised with a set piece being headed in at the back post. Newquay then had a chance to finish the game with Bray Evans headering over from close range. I the final minutes Newquay were keeping the ball in the corner when one of the Camleford players made a possible leg breaking challenge on the Newquay right back, seconds later another Camleford player grabbed striker Luke Welden by the neck and pulled him to the floor, both incidents only yrds away from the linesman, referee and the Newquay supporters. Then shock as both the away players only recieved a booking each as well as Welden being shown a yellow. Game ended 1-0 to Newquay which was probably the right result in what was a scrappy game with few chances.

It was a poor refereeing performance, he was totally intimidated by Newquays constant moaning and groaning about every decision, he sent dan off for a second caution when there was 20 or more similar challenges that went unpunished , and the bad challenge by a Camels defender that should have been red he gave a yellow .Sad to here Newquay players begging for yellow and red cards to be shown, not the most sporting team I have seen over the years .

Credit to Alan & his team for there previous few results, was it Ivybridge last week? Exmouth yesterday, very difficult places to go & get points, let alone 6pts. Although in the past i would say not Alans biggest fan credit must go to him for stepping in & transforming a great club, with some great people behind the scenes. I dont think we would get 9 against them now! He looks to of tightened up in defence & can grab goals. Good luck to all at Blaise Park. What was your line up Paul? Has it dramatically changed?

Blazey line up was Painter,Greet,Thackary,Carhart,Josh Sims,Carey,Cooper,Casley,Jared Sims,Bello and O Hagan.451. I make that 7 new faces plus 3 "originals" and James Greet returning after not playing for a while. Great away performance with Ex mouth unable to live with Tornado in particular and 2 up inside the first 15 mins

Painter in goal being injured for so long cost us so many points. At Ivybridge and even more so yesterday he caught everything. Made a few good saves just before half time and looked in total control. Thackary at the back won everything. Josh Simms has played much better lately. His corners were causing all sorts of problems at Exmouth. The new faces have defiantly helped but it's also helped bring out the best in the rest. Bring on Tavistock.
