midlandlilywhite
Good news for the Cornish Teddy Boy and St Austell fans. Hereford win 2-1 at Salisbury and 3-1 on aggregate. Good luck to Hereford in the Wembley final, pleased to see arrogant Salisbury didn't make it.
The unknown
I am so pleased that Salisbury didn't make it after the frostie reception St Austell received when a little club came up from Cornwall. They and herriford should never be the the comp any way
MOUNTAINEER
To be fair to the smaller clubs operating within the rules perhaps the powers that be should discuss the eligibility of teams dropping down the leagues for financial reasons, they drop down to regroup after getting themselves in trouble,at the same time retaining their main fan base before advancing again to their former glories, usually starting again with their debts written off, maybe a 3 or 5 year exclusion from entering the FA Trophy or FA Vase should be enforced. No well run clubs should be disadvantaged because of the actions of others who escape squeaky clean.
Paul
The F.A probably love the big clubs in the competition. St Blazey are in danger of not being in the F.A.Vase next year because the F.A require the area inside the ground to be tarmaced and the area under the covered end covered in concrete. Now these two things would really improve the ground but with watching St Blazey around 20 years, and seeing crowds from 50 to over 2000 in the ground, there's never been an issue with some loose stones. Apparently people could chuck the stones around. Well we could turn up with knives guns and bombs but who's stopping that? Clubs like St Blazey are being forced out in what should be a competition for them to test themselves against clubs in other regions.
The unknown
St Austell had to erect the stupid fence by the carpark and tea hut for the same reason and also had to put in the concrete path on the lower side of the pitch. If this was not in place the fa vase semi wouldn't have been able to host the gane. Cost £10000. Absolute joke when in the comp we travel to higher league teams with no of these things in place. cornishteddyboy
Yesterday was the first league/cup game all season when home fans outnumbered the visiting Hereford support. 660 tickets allocated for Hereford yesterday, 557 went through the turnstiles. Yes, Hereford are one of the "big" little clubs and have been favourites for the FA Vase since the fourth round, not being fully semi-professional they have a squad that contains students, jobbing footballers, ex-players from their time when they were full-time. But like FC Manchester, AFC Wimbledon they are sticking to a tight budget. Second in the Midland Premier League they have applied for promotion as have Alvechurch who lead the table. The showdown is 28th March when they travel to Alvechurch. But they have earned their chance at promotion as their record shows http://www.herefordfc.co.uk/fixtures/ In 90 years as a club they have never been to Wembley and will bring colour to the final, be it the famous black and white. This is written on the Alvechurch website. Even they expect to be outnumbered next week. Calling ALL Alvechurch Supporters. Your Club needs YOU! As you all are no doubt aware, Alvechurch play the mighty Bulls, Hereford on Easter Monday ko 3pm in what has been classified as an ALL TICKET MATCH. We have been designated a 1500 ground Capacity and with 900 tickets being allocated to the travelling army of Hereford supporters, we are calling on ALL Alvechurch supporters, old and new to come and support the Church as we attempt to win the MFL Premier league title. As I write this news item, we are currently TOP, two points ahead of Hereford, same games. So you can see the importance of this match in the title race. midlandlilywhite
Alvechurch will be easily outnumbered as they are only averaging 50-100 at home this season.
