That's how Bart Williams spells it - and that's good enuff for me. - :c:

Gosh Older, I'm impressed with your knowledge of Sierra Leonian born footballers who coach ladies in Connecticut, even though he never played for Spurs. Unlike the yellow peril Bart Simpson who I believe is going to be your new coach!

Match report by Graham Lloyd PPSC

FT: Plymouth Parkway 6 (Trott pen 20, Thompson 59, Martindale pen 62, Richards 78, Richards 82, Kane 86) Newquay 0

For their final home match of the season, Parkway were more or less at full strength despite a few players still suffering with minor injuries and the after effects of a recent virus. This may have been the reason for a pretty turgid, uninspirational 1st half lacking any real quality from either side. Newquay were willing but fairly limited opponents. Parkway looked the more likely to score and after a couple of near misses, took the lead from the penalty spot on 20 mins after Mike Smith had been brought down by the Newquay keeper. Surprisingly no card. After missing his last penalty, Jordan Trott stepped up and calmly finished to the keepers left. A few more half chances came and went for Parkway including an effort cannoning off a post. On 30 mins Paul Heveran replaced Jordan Trott who had taken a knock. Parkway continued to dominate although Newquay did have a spell of pressure at the end of the half during which they created a decent effort well saved by the previously relatively untroubled Dean Smith. The 2nd half continued in similar vein until Parkway increased their lead on 59 mins when a break on goal saw the unselfish Mark Berry slide a pass to Calum Thompson who tapped in from close range, his 1st and well deserved goal for the club. He continues to impress. 3 mins later Parkway got a 3rd, again from the spot. Excellent build up play down the right from Mike Smith and Thompson saw the latter blatantly tripped and in the absence of Trott, Calum Martindale took responsibility and fired home emphatically. Incidentally todays referee was the same one who awarded 2 pens against Parkway in their recent defeat at Launceston! Parkway had now moved up a gear or two and Newquay looked deflated. Ryan Richards replaced Mike Smith up front around 70 mins and quickly got into the action hooking home from close range on 80 mins after he reacted quickest to a loose ball after a fine save. Richards 2nd goal and Parkways 5th came 2 mins later when more good work by Thompson saw his perfect cross from the left volleyed home from around 6 yards. Parkway were now in complete control and the 6th came from substitute Rueben Kane's close range finish after the now demoralised Newquay defence had been scythed apart. A rare Newquay attack late on saw a shot from fully 30 yards cannon off the crossbar to safety. Had it gone in, it would have been the goal of the game. The last half an hour of the game was in complete contrast to all that had gone before. The win sees Parkway climb from 4th to 3rd ahead of Tavistock who had no game today, and still with a game in hand. By a quirk of fixture rearranging due to earlier postponements in the season, Parkways next game is at Newquay on Tuesday evening, the 1st of 8 away games to the end of the season. A similar result would do very nicely. In addition to reporting duties, your correspondent was today's duty raffle ticket seller and managed to coerce £73 from the punters to boost the supporters club funds. Many thanks to all who contributed.
