Went and watched the G play Witheridge had to go home change of clothes after getting soaked through at Padstow Obby Oss day ,lovely afternoon for watching football not the best of games end of season stuff really the G deserved there win but im not sure if this was the Witheridge 1st team because they play Plymouth Argyle tmmrw . Lee Paxton scored for the G with a brilliant strike but not a lot of celebration my man of the match goes to Lee PAXTON not just for his goal but his all round play . Well thats my last report on the G i wont be going all the way to Launceston to see them play Bodmin in the final pity it wasnt nearer . Well done G for a great season and another final to come

Camelford 0-2 St Blazey.

Such a better performance from the loss against Stoke Gabriel on Saturday means that Blazey's survival status is in their own hands. The match today was a scrappy one with the pitch being a great leveller for both sides (credit to the team that got to game on). Tornado Bello with both goals, the first being from a great run from Josh Sims who got a ball into Drummond who managed to lay it into the path of Bello to smash home. Then Bello was tripped in the box for a penalty which Sam Cooper took and blasted over (ball is still in the air as we speak, he says he went for the bottom corner!!). Finally, with 10 minutes to go, Bello broke through the Camels defence for a 1 on 1 situation which he cleverly slotted past the on-rushing keeper.

Great all round performance today, and a win against Witheridge on Thursday night means we're safe! #COYG

Well Well, what a difference a couple weeks can do in football! Again wont say to much until after Weds game against St.Austell, but there must be a lot of people on here very, very dissapointed that i am sat at home with a big smile on my face sipping my Bacardi & Grapefruit juice laughing my socks off at the demise of a certain teams fortunes

Adam - you must have been watching a different game. Am glad St Blazey have a good chance of staying up as too big a club to go down (Witheridge will be no easy game though), but Blazey were poor today - for a team that has clear quality players all they could manage was a long ball for Tornado. St Blazey had two chances ( won't count the penalty as everyone there, even you, would admit was a slip on Totnados part and not a foul) and scored twice - Camels had far more chance but never scored - can't complain at scoreline as Blazey finished what little they had, but you can't put it down to a good Blazey performance.

Leedsunited - like the silent majority I've read with interest the many comments surrounding which one of Bodmin and St Austell could manage not to throw the title away. Bodmin have a quality side (as do St Austell - Parkway and Tavistock)) and it looks fairly certain that Bodmin may edge it. Leagues don't lie and all football fans will, I'm sure, congratulate Bodmin on winning on Wednesday, should they get over the line.

Biggest congratulation have to go to Mousehole though - what a dominating performance and shame they are not seeking promotion this year as they would be a credit to the Premier League. Hopefully next year??

Have to agree with Bob, Camelford had more chances but couldn't convert and were the better side overall. It's goals that count and Blazey scored them both to take the points.

Should try it Bruegel, its fruity with a big kick to it (a bit like our Kev between the sticks at Bodmin!)

I think now looking at the table both Newquay & St. Blazey  will be safe, probably helped with their remaining fixtures at home against clubs from North Devon (Exmouth for Newquay, Witheridge for St.Blazey) who are playing for nothing & to be sure to travel not at full strength , as for Stoke Gabriel yesterday they put up an exceptional battle, but need two wins from last games, which i believe is possible for them if they perform like yesterday, but they need big favours from both Exmouth & Witheridge.

So all eyes to the Priory on Wednesday, its a funny old game :yahoo:

Keith, anyone who knows me knows that one thing I am not is 'Smug', i am very gracious & understand its the taking part that counts, not the winning of the league & Cups :yahoo:

You have to be aware Keith it was only two weeks ago, nearly everyone on here was sure Bodmin had blew the chance.....where are they all now

Even Paul was laughing ( & his team are relying on a weakend Witheridge side on Thursday!) So you can understand Keith how now i am a little on the jubilent side. Infact i would say i am just as happy now as i was winning the Easter Raffle at my local Easter Service 5 weeks ago

Bobjfh and Willowtree - funny how people see a game of footy so differently but I wasn't too worried even at one nil as Camelford never seemed to really threaten. I understand they had one or two first choices missing (and they didn't seem the side that drew nil nil at our place last Weds) but as for route one...kettle and pot come to mind....oh well its all opinions I suppose

It was funny to see you panic Leeds. :yahoo:

You Evil man Paul, i would be telling fibs if i said i didnt panic just a little!! Our slump got quite concerning at one stage! Anyway your Blazey will be fine on Thursday Paul as Witheridge's season come to an abrupt end this evening losing on Penalty's in the Devon Bowl tonight. They wont bring a full complement down to St.Blazey as there season is now over, you will be fine

I'll wait til 9.45 Thursday before celebrating any survival. Anything could happen yet. To even have the chance to stay up is a miracle when you concider we only had 5 points in February.

The win at Camelford was badly needed. The pitch was flooded. It was more of a swamp. Both teams did their best. At 0v1 Camelford made a great chance with a really good effort from the right which forced Painter to make a cracking save. Josh Simms will still be claiming his save at Torpoint for save of the season I'm sure.

The season is almost over. We're now planning the supporters day to help get the ground tidy and re painted etc. Phil Hiscox will be getting the fixtures out any day.

Watched the Camelford Blazey game and considering the pitch and what was at stake for Blazey I thought it was a decent display,it's never pretty when points are al that matters thought they looked decent at the back especially the two full backs and always a threat going forward.Alan has done a great job and hopefully they will stay up and push on next season
