Weasel Shwirk
Sorry about this but I have got to have a moan , which is a shame on such a big night for local football. Decided to avoid the crowds ( mainly due to finishing late at work) and went and watch Camelford V Godolphin. How the G's are in the top half i will never know ? Im not sure if they are disrespecting the league by fielding a nonsense side or what?!? Can someone enlighten me? However poor performances can be forgiven , what im really disappointed about is the no show after the game. Not one player stayed for food absolutely shocking behaviour on a side note congratulations to St Austell on a cracking season, the best team doesn't always win the league. Well done Laffs and the boys
Tribute
The best team on the night definitely lost . Not gonna criticise the ref ........ But there were certainly some very strange decisions tonight .

midlandlilywhite
Bodmin Town (1) 3 St Austell (0) 2 Firstly congratulations to Bodmin on securing the Championship tonight. Congratulations also to the Lillywhites in giving Bodmin a real fight. If it wasn't for Rocky Neale's brilliant finshing the result may have been different Bodmin scorers - Bowker 15 min, Neale 72 and 88 mins St Austell scorers - Reski 47 min, Giles 90 min Does anybody know the official attendance ? I guess about 350 . Looking forward to seeing the boys collect the runners up trophy at Tavistock on Friday night.
Team Rep
Camelford 7 - 2 Godolphin Camelford went 1 nil down after about 15 mins, but they soon equalised through Marc Gusterson, who also gave them the lead from the penalty spot shortly after. Pretty much one way traffic from then on and the goals just kept coming for the Camels from Adam Jenkin, Ryan Pooley, Josh Insley (2) and another from Gus to complete his hat-trick, to the delight of their supporters. Phil Lowry sent off for a second yellow card in the second half to pile on the misery for Godolphin. Surprised and disappointed that they didn't go in the club for food after! Another excellent three points and one more home match left against Plymouth Parkway this coming Saturday. Well done the Camels!

Super sub 10
Ivyridge 2-2 Heston Ivy's 2 up at half time but a good response from the visitors after the break to pull it back all in all a decent end of season game
SteveM
Stoke Gabriel have it all to do now. You've got to expect a very tough game against Saltash on Saturday, whilst Newquay have two ties in Exmouth and and Callington that you might expect them to get something from, although I wonder if they'll be fatigued having played two days on the trot... 2 hours ago, AdamTonkin said: St Blazey stay up, great escape complete! Wrong end of the table still, although the second half of the season form (30 points from 18 games) would have seen us in the top half. Hang on to this group of players and add a centre half and a couple more elsewhere and I reckon we're looking at a decent mid table / top half side. Newquay must surely look to get their required one point on Saturday? Both them and Sunday's opponents Callington are playing on Saturday, so at least that's not so bad! Godolphin's season has fallen apart suddenly and that surprises me. They were doing so well - what has gone wrong ? Have to agree and after the Easter Monday hammering, what might happen on Saturday week in the SWPL Cup final? Bodmin won't be easing off with a treble within reach! Since end of February Godolphin, out of 15, they have lost 10! Failing to score in 6 of those and some heavy scorelines against them such as 5-0 twice and last night's 7-2. Congratulations to all the guys down at St.Blazey, a fantastic achievement by all involved, delighted for Brokey, Amos, Martin, the Management & playing staff. Having seen St.Blazey a few times the last few months at Newquay, & home to Saltash i never doubted they wouldnt stay up, it was nice teasing Paul though! 100%cornish
Godolphin have had lots of injuries and miss Jamie LOWRY really badly and 3 of the games they lost in a row Sean the G goalie was suspended and i expect last night at Camelford they played a lot of there youngsters why risk injury before the Bodmin final . The league has been sorted out theres nothing left to play for so i expect Andy put out a less strong team theres no way any of those teams would of beaten the G if they had there full 1st team out

Bobjfh
100%cornish - if only that were true!! Last night Godolphin fielded their strongest possible team, and quoting their manager 'the strongest team they have had in months'. You are right that no Jamie Lowry and stand in keeper (Camelford had their captain Dan as a stand in keeper as well - but didn't matter so much as virtually never challenged!). It was the same team that beat Witheridge. They had three 'youngsters' on the bench who were only brought on when already 6-1 down. Also, don't think that it was a game that meant nothing to the 'G's', as they played with 'passion' - well if that's what you call the captain Lowry ring sent off late in second half and several other yellow cards. They were also, presumably, gutted as having said they would come in for food all disappeared without even saying goodbye - 'sporting?' Camelford, clicked and could have scored 10 or more on the night and the 'G's' we're lucky to get 2 and any comment to the contrary undermines a great Camels performance. I have to say that I fear for Godolphin in their cup final against Bodmin - they were poor, disjointed and continually blaming each other and arguing with anyone who would listen. The Camels were very good but against Bodmin front players the ref may need an abacus to keep score!!!

The Camels were very good but against Bodmin front players the ref may need an abacus to keep score!!! I completely agree with Bobjfh. I was myself watching the game and thought that the Camels were worthy winners. As you have stated, if anything it could have been a bigger margin. I'm sure it was just a bad day at the office for Godolphin, I have watched them field very similar teams many times - a team which they have managed to get a very respectable league position with once again this year. To be without Jamie and Shaun is without doubt a loss, but they still fielded their strongest team possible excluding these 2 players and were surely without doubt the favourites going into the game. It's a shame that they didn't go in for food. I appreciate that it's an evening kick off and that they wanted to get back because of work the next day etc. However I don't believe that this stopped Camelford going back into Witheridge clubhouse for an hour after the game on Monday 25th April - which I am told resulted in some players getting home between 00:30am and 1:00am. Congratulations to Camelford staying in the league relatively convincingly in the end and good luck to Godolphin for the cup final - it would be nice to see a closer fixture this time around as opposed to another Senior Cup Final result!
