Typical swpl fixturing I am afraid - no common sense !

All down to the rubbish weather and the fact that the FA (not Cornwall CFA) would not allow any sort of extension if games could be played either Saturday or Sunday. I believe Mousehole game next week is due to no other space in the schedule and common sense not expecting Bude to travel to Mousehole for a 6.30pm kick off mid-week.

Watched the Newquay game this afternoon thinking I might witness some passion from the home side as they needed a point to definitely avoid relegation.

Regretfully I have to say I was disappointed and because Stoke Gabriel beat Saltash this afternoon, it now means Newquay travel to Callington tomorrow still having to get that required point. The only thing in their favour is that Cally's recent form hasn't been much better!

Come on boys, show your club that you actually care, because I wasn't convinced today that many can be bothered!

Agreed Dave, there was a lack of passion but for a team needing only one point, the manager didn't set them up right either. Far too open and with two wide men, weak in central midfield where they were overrun by a very competent Exmouth team.

There is real talent in the squad but Newquay lacked direction (on and off the field) more than passion. Not sure also why the experienced Huw Morgan ( if fully fit) was left on the bench. Poor attendance too and, with Stoke Gabriel winning, a totally miserable day.....

Newquay are in real trouble, such a shame for a club with so much history & tradition. Counts for nothing now when in the mess they are in. Where did it all go wrong, easy to blame other factors but for me players must shoulder most of the blame, players just not good enough

Thanks fellas, yes he's Paul's youngest son. He looked a real player from a very young age but as we all know a lot can happen between being a great young talent and actually getting offered an apprenticeship. He's been utterly dedicated all the way along the road and he couldn't have a more down to earth dad in Paul who will have kept his feet on the ground if ever it was needed.

He's still a top bloke thanks Kev and next time I speak to him I'll pass on your regards.

I agree that a significant amount of blame rests with players but they need guidance, leadership and motivation and that's the manager's job so he's also culpable I'm afraid.

Taking it further, if he hasn't been supported by the committee with the resources required, then they must be in the firing line too.

I suppose that the point I'm making in essence is that  responsibility should be spread across the club as a whole and changes will be required to turn things round. Whether or not that will be in the Premier league will be decided later.......

Hope Newquay win today and play with more passion and pride they dont want to be known as the players that got relegated Newquay have a long and distinguished history and its a disgrace they re in such a mess if they stay up they need a huge clear up just keep the 2 Annear boys because what i have seen they are the only 2 that really give there all for this once great club . New manager needed would like to see Godolphins ex Manager Tony Mc Kellar take over .Come on NEWQUAY need u to stay up the G needs u to so they can get 6 points off u each season only joking. Just show some pride and fight in u not like u have been doing lately been a shambles

Hope he does hes done well for the G but would like to see Tony McKELLAR working with him JAKE has done really well when Andy Savage has been away and had some impressive results and he can still play as well Newquay doing well so far 3-1 at Callington so hope they dont throw it away

Newquay need an experienced Premier Division manager, to much of a gamble to punt on a manager without experience, that has been proven this season. Fortunatly they got away with it, this time

Congratulations (if that's the right word) on retaining a fragile grip on the Premier league Newquay. Is it a coincidence, do you think that two teams marginally surviving the drop this year, were, within the last decade, led by the same Captain/Manager, Manager/Director of Football team at considerable expense to the teams involved?

Would say it's unfair to say that only 2 players show any passion for the club, you would think every player puts all their effort into winning and to give a good account of them as an individual, perhaps the team this season has lacked some consistent quality, stability with injuries, players leaving etc. You've got to remember the average age of that Newquay team this season has been around 20/21 and all those youthful players would've gained valuable experience.

Big sigh of relief. Can't remember being relegated from either the old South Western League or the Peninsula League.First hurdle over, the real work begins now.

Camelford wont like the look of that result (Callington)

Interesting but pointless fact that both relegated clubs beat Godolphin 5-0 on their own grounds. I'm sure G will be pleased not to go back!

The G wil be delighted but its a shame anyone has to be relegated but next season will be even stronger with Plymouth Argyle youngster in the carlsberg premier division , I reckon Rocky Neale will move on in the close season i think Kevin Miller will retire and they wont be such a force without those 2 i will stick my neck out now and say Plymouth Parkway will win the league next season they are the best team i have seen this season a really good footballing side i enjoy the football they play the whole team is class

Rocky Neale to Exeter City?????

Dream on.

110% differant level. As good as he is at this level, there is no way he is able to step up and play against players in that league.

Look at some of players currently playing in that league.....Kevin Nolan at Leyton Orient (2-3 of seasons ago, was scoring goals regularly from midfield in the Premier League), thats the standard..........
