Guest
More archiving taking place and for the record (as the Torpoint website neither has a history section nor is updated) what ground did Torpoint play on when they joined the South Western League in 1962? I believe, though unconfirmed that they first played at Mill Field from 1971/72 season onwards. Something to do with a swap deal with St Columbas Rugby Club. I think most of their epic FA Amateur Cup runs took place at Defiance Field (which is still there) and photographic evidence would back this up. As Torpoint also staged a SWLC semi final in the 1960s it would be good to pinpoint the actual ground used.
panda
I am not sure of the exact dates but I can remember watching a Fa amateur cup game against Radstock about 1971 at Defiance Field. That was when Torpoint had the likes of Barry Stephens Lou Deardon and Ben Lines playing for them and the side was managed by Les Cardew. And yes Defiance Field is still being used by Torpoint / St Columba rugby club.
