Well I didn't go there expecting to much tonight. Parkway tipped to be right up there this season. They had a good win at Buckland on Saturday while St Blazey took a good point at Exmouth. Second team player Rundle played at the back for St Blazey. Good enough for the first team any day. St Blazey knocked the ball around really well on an excellent looking pitch. Parkway had one good chance first half which went wide while Tornado had one good effort fly over, another effort that if he took another touch would have given him a better chance and a few other efforts to keep us hoping. H.T 0v0.

The second half Parkway stepped up the pace but St Blazey looked in control and started making half chances themselves. With 20 minutes to go we looked good for a point but a chip to the back post was volleyed home. The second cam from a corner headed home and the third was a shot no one was going to stop. Disappointed in the end because we played some decent football.

Look forward to the visit of Falmouth on Saturday for our first home game of the season.

Thankyou to RVP for a program as we got there just after kick off. Good crowd off around 260. Several St Blazey fans making the trip up as well. Parkway have a good fan base and plenty of yellow and blue scarfs around the ground.

St Blazey host Parkway on a Wednesday night in October. Your pint will be waiting RVP. :drink:

FT Plymouth Parkway 3 (Popple, 72, M. Landricombe 77, Davey79) St Blazey 0

Showing 2 changes from that side that won in the FA Cup on Saturday, Parkway commenced their league programme with a visit from St Blazey in front of a decent sized crowd. St Blazey started with only 10 men but after 5 mins had a full complement with the arrival of Josh Sims who then proceeded to have an impressive game. The game took a while to get going with neither side able to string many passes together and both guilty of giving the ball away too easily. The game was compressed into midfield with neither side creating anything of note. Parkway gradually began to impose themselves with the lively Mike Smith causing problems down both flanks. Despite this, the St Blazey keeper dealt comfortably with a few shots and generally Parkway's final ball was lacking with the wrong options invariably being taken. St Blazey were restricted to a few long range efforts, non of them on target. A pretty uneventful 1st half lacking any real quality from either side.

The 2nd half continued in similar vein with St Blazey marginally on top for the 1st 15 mins without creating too many problems for the home defence. Parkway made a couple of substitutions around the hour mark and began to dictate more of the play, using their wide men to better effect. They eventually took the lead on 72 mins when, after a fine run and cross from the right by Tyler Elliot, Christian Popple ghosted in at the far post to steer the ball home from around 6 yards. This seemed to relax Parkway and their performance improved significantly and, a bit like buses, a second goal came along soon after. After a period of concerted pressure, a pinpoint corner from the right on 77 mins saw centre back Michael Landricombe power home a header unopposed. The goal of the game quickly followed when, on 79 mins ,substitute Sam Davey won possession just inside the St Blazey half, powered forward, shook off a couple of a desperate challenges and hit home a left footed, rasping, rising drive from the edge of the penalty area. A superb effort. Although not at their best for the first 70 or so mins, Parkway finally got their game together in the last 20 mins and finished impressively to run out worthy winners. St Blazey battled hard showing good committment and energy but rarely threatened the home keeper. Parkway will look to continue their unbeaten start to the season on Saturday when Newquay are the visitors.

Lookin forward to a beer Paul
